Having trouble getting parts?

So, I'm pretty bummed about my recent KC lights order. While I did get a package dropped shipped from KC, the only thing in it was the amber lenses that I also bought for the flex lights I installed on my JL as fog lights. But, that's all I got. So, yesterday, I sent an email to Xenon Depot to find out what's going on and this is what they told me.

Hey Eddie,

Thanks for the email! KC HiLites products are made to order so they usually have a 4-6 week lead time. Those lights should be shipped out within that timeframe and when they ship we will email you the tracking number.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

I so hate when companies market that way to get you to buy and then they don't have it. And then tell you afterwards that they don't.

Yeah, I sent them the screen shot and asked them to explain it. At this point and time, I fully expect them to bump someone else's order just so that they can say that they're an honest company. If they give me the run around, I'll just cancel my order and place it with a more reputable one and wait even longer, just like all the other people who get their shit for free. :naw:

Are KC lights customized? I understand the 'made to order' model for a custom made product, but from what I've read they are just a bad ass light. No options, no customization.

This seems like a '99% of the time we have these in stock but due to the market issues right now we don't and since our inventory levels aren't reflected on our website appropriately and this guy ordered one thinking we had them on hand we're just going to lie and tell them they're *custom*. That should appease him.'

Made to order not custom made. As in they only make them after receiving an order from a reseller. I’m guessing usually bulk orders for inventory but given the situation it’s close enough to make a good excuse.

I'm in a similar boat. Ordered Mopar half doors in October.:crazyeyes: After multiple shipping day pushes they were supposed to ship today, (Last time I spoke with them they were pretty confident that 19 March was going to happen). But instead of the tracking information email I was expecting this morning I get the fucking 5 more weeks email. :mad: A few weeks ago I sent an email to one of the many MoparParts vendors to see if they could do better and was told doors are on national backorder. So I guess I'm pretty much stuck on waiting this one out. Fucking blows..

Yes but I'm pretty set in wanting the OEM factory finish. I think the only other I even considered was the the Rugged Ridge but I opted to just go all in.


They will be worth the wait.

Yes they will.:thumb: Honestly I'm not even home right now so it's not a huge deal. But I do give them some grief just to keep them on their toes.:dont_tell:
My biggest fear is one day I get an email saying "sorry this product has been discontinued".

Try calling them. :crazyeyes: It's basically wait for a half hour on hold while continually listeneng to this message: "Due to Covid, our service sucks dick. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Covid is a excuse for shitty customer service nowadays [emoji35]
