Get it? Got it? Good or bad... So called vaccine.

Our company was able to get the moderna vaccine I took the first one supposed to take the second this week our company Dr was in on the clinical trials with no ill affects so I figured what the hell if it helps get us back to (normal) . I’m sure I’ve been exposed to much worse in my lifetime some self induced back in the day :cheesy:

I think we work for the same company. Our company doctor isn’t going to convince me that it is safe.

I got the moderna vax. As mentioned earlier in the thread, I have a feeling that they’re going to make kids get it for school (I’m in NYC) so I took it. I figured my kids got a couple of years before they start school, so if I’m good by then, I won’t worry as much about them.
Shot 1: Didn’t even feel the needle. About 2 hours later I had mild shoulder soreness that lasted a little over a day.
Shot 2: Felt the needle. After my observation period I did feel some warmth running up my neck on the ride home. About 5 hours later, I was hurting. No new pain but any injuries that I was nursing, the pain in those areas was magnified X10. I was hungry all the time, even immediately after eating a big meal. That went on for about 3 days and slowly tapered off over the course of another 5-6 days.
My second dose was over a month ago.

My coworker said the same thing happened to him after his second shot. It lasted for about 48 hours.

I had friends get a fever and flu symptoms from the second shot. I got some chills about 25 hours after mine, went to bed early, and was pretty much fine the next day. Other friends had nothing.

Your friends that had no reaction to the second shot, what was their reaction from the first one?
The general consensus here on my job and the moderna vax, if you had a reaction to the first does, that’s your first exposure to the virus. If you only reacted to the second dose, it’s because you’ve already had the Rona. I am not stating this as fact, but after interviewing us and reactions and comparing those reactions to who had positive tests, this was an educated guess they came up with.

One of my favorites.

"So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and
Demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life,
Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and
Its purpose in the service of your people.

Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend,
Even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and
Bow to none. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the food and
For the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks,
The fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and nothing,
For abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts
Are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes
They weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again
In a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home."

Tecumseh’s poem are truly words to live by. I have that framed in my office.

I haven’t heard that any of my friends had rona before getting the shots. I know I didn’t have it; at least, no symptoms. I had a localized ache from the first shot, same is you might have from a flu shot, rubella shot, etc. I felt nothing at all from the second until 25-26 hours later. Just seems to depend on the individual.

How do you know they didn’t? My Wife and I got pretty Damn sick.. (knocked us out for like 3-4 days) around Nov/Dec 2019... Same happened to a lot of people I know... friends, family, co workers, teachers, patents at school... This area got hit hard... Then they announce Rona in April.

I know 5 or 6 people that say they were sick near the end of 2019, never once we're sick during 2020 but had anti bodies when tested, so it was definitely here before April

My wife has a PhD in Bioengineering so I’m gonna believe her on the vaccine over google. mRNA has been around longer than you think. I’m also glad we aren’t making vaccines the same way we did 75 years ago. That would be crazy.

As far as masks not working. Ask your surgeon why they wear a mask while preforming surgery. It keeps you from getting an infection from them. Masks work, not to protect you but to protect others. Unless you think the surgeon just likes wearing a mask for 12 hours during a complicated surgery just for shits and giggles.

I said the same thing to my wife...in December 2019 I was ill in bed for at least a full day, and felt sick for about four days...i thought it was the worse case of flu I ever had...and I already had a flu vaccine. I’ve suspected I had it...Seattle was just in the beginning of being the epicenter in the US at the time...

A. Never argue with authorities? Because they say it's so? That would be nonsense?
B. Many, humans have died from covid. Many humans die each year from the flu and a multitude of other causes. Yes.
C. Yes.
D. I know covid is real.
E. The earth is round.
F. I witnessed the moon landing. Granted, it was on TV.

I'M VERY glad, you didn't choke to death! You would be totally immersed, in absolute truth, as I type this response. With no opportunity to change direction.

Wrong, Brute. Sharkey just assured me, he has no worries.
I know you are Sharkeys, toady, but, try harder...

Finally, I just read the history of Moderna. Doesn't instill, confidence at all. It's all on Sharkey's favorite, go to place for truth. Wikipedia.

Isn’t this discussion taking away from you attending your Proud Boy meetings?...

Understand good practices executed poorly still stuck and people can be frustrated with that for sure. But mRNA is good, masks are good, our current laws are just dumb

I'm thinking I had it in late, Jan., 2020. A large group of returning, (from China) January term, university students, piled out of a private jet, and filled our maintenance hangar/office, waiting for vans to pick them up. 2 days later, one of the guys working there got sick, 2 more days, and I was sick. No taste or smell, fever that topped at 103.5. I had already had flu, A, just after Christmas.
Given the choice, except for the worrisome fever, I would take whatever it was, over any flu. I did not go see a doc. My wife and son were home with me the whole time, never got sick from me.
The worst part for me was, I had zero energy, for at least a month, after.

I don’t know for sure, but we are all on a first responders team and are pretty tight. Most likely if someone had it, I’d have heard, but I wouldn’t say with 100% certainty.

The general public isn’t fucking performing surgery. We are buying a 2x4 at Home Depot.
The mask thing is dumb as fuck.

Agreed. And most of the general public can’t count back change, much less put a surgical or N95 mask on correctly.

The Annals of Internal Medicine paper showed just how effective (rather, in-effective) mask usage is against the coronavirus in the general population.

Seriously...I had baseball tryouts with my boys Saturday & Sunday... I helped the coaches, so I was allowed on the field...but all the parents had to watch from behind the fence on the sidewalk... Kids spread 6ft apart, Running drills with masks on.... no one else allowed through the gate until each group was finished... In all my years being apart of little league, this was the most frustrating bullshit.

You are more than welcome to think it’s dumb. And I agree some of the things that were put into place were way too reactionary but it still doesn’t change the facts that mask worn correctly help reduce the spread. The general public might not be performing surgery but it’s just facts.

Areas with or without mask mandates had numbers sky-rocketing during the surges. I just don't see it. Even though many people were wearing them improperly, they were still wearing them. So there should have been way better numbers in areas with mandates but there wasn't. But I'm no surgeon, so what do I know. The great Dr Fettuccine can't even seem to figure out whether masks work or not and he makes half a million dollars per year as an 'expert.'
