Random (non-Jeep) Shit You’re Working On....

I see the LG tag in the fridge, and I am not surprised. Is that a model with the linear compressor as well? You know, the one that they still manufacture and put in new fridges but it only lasts 2 years at most on a $2000 fridge, that you cant even buy a replacement for when they send the techs out? Its amazing how complete shite appliances have turned in 10-15 years, Pretty sure the only ones worth a damn anymore are Speed Queen Bosch and Amana. LG Samsung Whirlpool, its all absolute garbage now. Nice hotwire fix though

Yup... LG, Linier compressor, at least $2500, the compressor still works at about 3 years in though.

Yes, appliances are garbage compared to what was in my parents house (still in their house). In 13 years i've gone through 2 refer's, 2 dishwashers, 2 sink disposals, just got the 4th micro hood (had to work on the others constantly), Hotwired the control board in the dryer & replaced just about every other component, washing machine has needed everything but a pump, oh yeah and an AC compressor/condenser for $3500 when the one I bought originally was supposed to be top of the line & about 5K more expensive than the standard central air set up.

My parents just replaced their fridge after 25 years... & it still works just started to look like shit. The rest of their major appliances are still kicking

Yep I agree. However I've had good luck with my Samsung refers. The first one I had was 10 years old and still going strong, but I lost it in the divorce...haha. The only issue I had was having to reset the icemaker a few times. I replaced it with another Samsung and it's now 7 years old. My GE washer and dryer are 18 years old and just won't break. I've replaced the belt, tensioner pully, and drum glides in the dryer. I finally got a replacement bulb so I can see into it when getting my clothes out. It's going strong even after my daughter threw sopping wet clothes into it and water was pouring out of the bottom...haha. The washer has had the pump get "stuck" once and the start switch gets finicky. It wouldn't turn on a couple months ago. I discovered a reset procedure that you can do by unplugging it and opening and closing the lid several times. Did it and it's been working fine. Things are made so shitty and to be replaced not repaired. I'm weird and like trying to fix things...haha.

Been installing the Ring alarm system I bought back in March..haha. It's replacing my ADT system. The cost of monthly monitoring is stupid. I'll get the same monitoring for $100 a year (instead of $60 a month) which I was already paying in order to save my videos from the Ring cameras I have. So far I like everything much better. The sensors are much smaller and a lot less intrusive. Plus, only one app to control everything is nice.

lol when you know, you know. My wife first said "dumplings and beer?" I'm working on a Chinese food box instead of that bowl looking thing. I'm not a graphic artist so progress is slow.
Had to go back and see what all the fuss is..haha. I get it now.

Don't need a Chinese food box just make them look more like won-tons. Your wife was right they look more dumplingish or pot-stickers...haha.

I need to build a new one for the miter saw but I am just thinking about getting a new one so I might just get the stand. It was just placed on top for storage.
Have you seen the home made workbenches that you mount the saw too and it has a part that flips it over and locks it in? When its flipped saw up the base is level with the bench, then flip it over for a different tool like router table or just for table top.

etc....

I haven’t seen those ones in particular but mine is the same design. Router table and planer rotate around.

Well, I was hoping this job would take me 3 months. Just finishing up my 4th month now, not counting curing time for the foundation. My house was a DIY job built in 1950. Needed to update a lot. First was a French drain in the basement

On to the first floor, removed the old sagging load bearer that ran the span of the house and installed steel. 2 17’ 8” web ibeams with 3 4X4 steel columns.

Prep the joists. The chainsaw was way faster than a sawzall even with having to stop to sharpen when I hit nails

I hoisted them up from the second floor while my wife pushed them in place with a 2X4. Leveled it up and put in joist hangers
