12 JKU sport build

Caught the Bug
Finally finished with my builder corners. I’m loving the new look of MCE narrow front flares and EVO no flare corners. The lights were a pain to install, but all went smoothly.

Finally had a little free time to get the Jeep dirty. More importantly spend some quality time with my Dad. A few pics from the day.

Caught the Bug
It’s been a little while since I have gotten on here and posted. I have no real updates on my build. But I will have some small mods coming for the winter months to keep me busy. This week I will be fixing my HVAC blend door actuator which recently went out. Along with installing a Magnaflow exhaust. I have taken the Jeep a few small places for a little playtime by myself as I’m still looking for a group to wheel with before I take it somewhere more serious.

Caught the Bug
In a few weeks, I will be taking the Jeep from SC to Austin, Texas, approximately 1100 miles one way. Any recommendations on what I need to prepare other than the normal?

I will be preparing by doing the following.
-tire rotation(just did this last week)
-check breaks(just did this last week)
-change oil
-check fluids(tranny, oil, coolant)
-check battery
-check belts
-check lights
-check bolts
-pack some tools/fluids just in case

The unfortunate part is my buddy is coming with me, but can’t drive a stick. So that leaves me driving 2200 miles within 5 days.

Seems like a good list, I did all the same on my last 1000+ mile trip.
If you’re going to be down in Austin for a while, there’s a nice place to go crawling called Hidden Falls.

I actually checked that out last night. If I have time, I have it on the list to do. We will arrive in town on a Thursday around lunch and will be leaving early hours on a Monday. So I may not have time. But I can always add it to my list to come back for a longer period of time.

If you decide to hit it up and want someone to go with, let me know. I’m about 3 hours away from there and overdue for a trip!👍🏼👍🏼

Caught the Bug
With my long distance trip coming up fast, I took the opportunity to perform some much needed maintenance. My ABS and Traction Control lights (bad wheel speed sensor) have been on for about 6 months, I decided to finally replace all 4. Now I finally have my cruise control back. I have replaced my HVAC blend door, to make sure I have heat/AC when I want it. I topped off all fluids, along with a fresh oil change. Now all I need to do is make sure my suspension bolts are nice and tight and she should be ready for the trip.

Caught the Bug
It has been a few months since I have been able to post online due to a crazy work schedule, spending time with my family, and the holiday seasons that have passed, I thought I would post some updates as I get back into the forum.

First, we decided to just rent a car as my buddy never figured out driving a manual, and I wasn’t ready for him to cost me a new clutch.

second, I did a few things to the Jeep that needed to be done on a little free time I have had. New Heavy Duty ball joints and a new tie rod were installed as I had a slight wobble around 40mph. This solved this issue.

I was able to take the Jeep out for a day of wheeling with my family right after Christmas. We did a small portion of the Georgia Traverse. I hope to take a long weekend here soon to tackle the whole section of trails along with some camping. Here are a few pics.

Caught the Bug
A few updates on my build/plan.

Over the next few months I will be investing more and more into my Jeep. Reason being, I am pushing this year to wheel more and more, hopefully at least once a month. With it still being relatively early in the modifications (the normal lift, tires, bumpers, etc), I plan to upgrade a lot of parts to push it towards the end goal. Enough of the boring stuff, towards the upgrades.

I plan to sell one of my vehicles that I don’t use much. The money will be split into saving, and Jeep parts.

I am looking at the following:
- EVO skid plates - ordering this week
- Front and rear driveshafts - still looking into these. Any advise?
- adjustable control arms, looking at EVO
- king shocks at the rear
- coilovers at the front

Next year, I will be pushing into getting a 44 up front and building my rear axle along with moving to 37s.

Another note, thank you to those who have taken the time to look at my build thread. I personally enjoy reading others.
