WARN 9.5 Powerplant and synthetic rope

The link I provided on post #4 has 125' as a standard length. Remember a winch runs better with more line out. I personally would keep it between 80-100' and have some extension lines for when the extra length is needed.

hahahahah Actually I was, but I thought I had derailed enough threads today ;)

WARN 9.5 Powerplant and synthetic rope

I believe it's 15 pounds heavier as well (which is likely due to the gearbox as the motor is the same). It also pulls slightly more current across the load range. The biggest reason I wouldn't go this way is the loss in cable. In order to pull 12k the line needs to be up-sized and it is bigger.

WARN 9.5 Powerplant and synthetic rope

Smittybilt offers a host of synthetic rope. 11/32" for 8k pounds, 25/64" for 10k pounds, and 7/16" for 12k pounds. I know for a fact that the Smitty line doesn't hold up to UV as well as The Spydura, which is 3/8". The rope diameter is important because it will decide how much length the spool...

New tool arrived today! The analog angle gauge I had started to stick when put on a small angle (ball joint) plus it wasn't as accurate as I'd like. I can dial in (or at least read) caster much better at home now. :wings:

    Swanky Builds Thread

We've been crazy busy lately and I haven't had much time for my WAL family. (Other than a few drive bys.) Not too much has changed with our rigs anyway.... After Steve(Cozdude), Andrew(noroad), Julie(YoungFire, and Scott(GRNHORN) left Monday we pulled Lil-Punkin' in the shop for some...

Any opinions on the new Smittybilt X2O winch

Trust me there are plenty of people here that know how to navigate a forum.... Like me, so I will post up your original response so everyone can see. I took the reply as them being silly, kind of like friends do around a camp fire. Nothing more. Try not to be so sensitive. It's only some text...

Conflicting info from wayalife vendors regarding dynatrac prorock 44.

You mean issues like this D60 RCV CV cage off my buddy's rig? He also has also broken several shafts. Luckily for him, it was warranted because the completely failed. This is just my opinion, but I think the RCV sponsor stickers keep them quiet. Truth is, I do love how smooth...

VIDEO : Route 66 Musical Road - Tijeras, New Mexico

It's a good thing you guys made this trip in Reny. Sadly, this doesn't work well with large void MT tires (at least not the all of them).

looking to change front bumper again.. better approach angle

Well, here is another view of it on my Jeep. I may have been off by an inch or so but I retain my thoughts. Also my Poison Spyder Brawler Lite sits back farther than the stock bumper's crush-can bump outs but the bar still sits back and too high to effect a pedestrian strike. Something else...

    Tpms question.

I believer the TPMS sensors themselves are different and not compatible. I think the switch was somewhere around the 10' 11' year. I'm not 100% though.

looking to change front bumper again.. better approach angle

Yes, but you are missing that everything you just said pertains to the factory bumper and not the bar we are talking about that the lower air-dam mounts to. This bar is too far back and tucked up to be a factor for a pedestrian strike. The bar we are talking about is roughly located where the...

    JKS flex links

Where I think they may be an advantage is at high speed when you need to be connected but want a little more travel and side-to-side isolation. Still, I'd pass.

    JKS flex links

If you have a Rubicon with the electronic disconnect you already have the best set-up. Just get the right fixed length links and be done with it. For those without a Rubicon sway bar I could see where this would be appealing but my thoughts of something like this are the same as the Currie...

BEDEVILED : An Off Road Adventure Through the Historic Devil’s Canyon Jeep Trail

We (The whole Swank family) sat down to watch this last night just before bed. We all really enjoyed it. We always enjoy the WAL videos but after getting to meet many of the stars in person, it was a somehow more special. I'm not sure I can explain it, but there was almost a bit of jelousy...

I got the last part of the $86 Amazon drag link for Lil-Punkin' (Alana's Jeep). I've grown tired of the adjustment nightmare and replacing boots on the Synergy d-link she currently has and gathered the parts to go with a right-hand stocker... Hopefully I will get it installed this weekend...
