How Long are You Willing to Wait for Jeep Parts?

I’m sorry I can’t buy that either. Coverking is made in the USA, and if they were a responsible manufacturer, they would have more than one source for suppliers. Regardless, I’ve ordered some items from Amazon that actually come from overseas (China) and I’m not waiting 5 months. I just don’t buy the overseas/shipping excuse as the reason for a 5+ month delay for anything.
It's certainly not the reason in every case, but believe me, it's real. I live it every day.

If it's something I really want I guess 7 months and counting is my number.:( Still waiting on the half doors I ordered in October. The last shipping estimate was for 26 April. This has happened every time.
They send me a lite hearted response saying there is another delay and a new shipping date. Which pisses me off. The "Let's face it " really get's under my skin.
At this point I'm a little concerned I will ever get them. Mopar vendors told me they are on national backorder. Another thing is they are paid for in full. Always thought they charged your card when item actually shipped. As of now I only have the front and rear uppers and interior panels. This was a Morris4x4 which apparently is now AutoAnything.

Topical, just placed an order for king shocks for the JK. Was quoted a delay for the front shocks, which is long, but I’m ok with it (mainly because I want the damn parts hahaha, but also that they were up front about the delay).

Paid in full? For 7 months???? I'm sorry but that's just BS especially if you're paying interest on them.

As long as the company is honest and gives me a ballpark of what to expect I'm more willing to work with them. That said when backorders are 4 to 6 months out I might look at other options depending on what it is.

My jeep is currently sidelined the last week waiting on a 3$ bolt. 4 dealerships multiple hardware stores and 2 fastenal stores didn't have the upper front shock bolt so I had to order it lol.

Yeah I'm with the general consensus that 1-2 weeks is reasonable for in-stock parts. I ordered some couch covers about 6 months ago. The company is based in CA and appeared the product was Made in the US. The initial shipping time frame said "Due to these being made to order the estimated shipping will be 1-2 weeks from the date of order" I was fine with that. 6 weeks later they finally show up. Low and behold they're made in China and not even close to how they were described on their website. They offer a 60 satisfaction guarantee. After having them on about a week my wife and I decide they are not working and to send them back. After multiple attempts to contact them via several email addresses I filed a dispute with my CC company. They never heard anything either when they contacted them. I got a full refund from my CC and have these shitty covers I my closet...haha
Yup, it really is frustrating to see parts being listed as "in stock" and be able to place an order for them only to find that there is some kind of crazy delivery date far out in the future or worse, no ETA at all. It's all BS. Just ran into this problem with KC ERA lights.
I was concerned when I ordered my KC gravity pro headlights. It seemed they were out of stock with every vendor I looked at, including KC. One vendor I found showed in stock so I ordered them expecting to get a "I'm sorry they're on back order" email. A day later I received a shipping email and they arrived 2 days later.

It’s tough because sometimes you don’t have a choice. (Rarely the case I know) if it shows in stock I’ll call to verify and then I’ll place the order. I’ll give it 7-10 business days to ship. Outside of that I just won’t order it. If there is a stated lead time (often the case with custom type orders in any industry) then I’ll place an order if it’s reasonable. Outside 30 business days and I’ll look elsewhere or wait until either the part is in stock, or the lead times come down. I’ve started to order parts for an upcoming project knowing full well I won’t see them for a month or so but, in this case I won’t be ready to tackle it until the fall anyway so I suppose this is an exception to my rule. I’m pretty dead set on a few things and they just flat out aren’t available right now but, I can get on a backorder list on a few of them and I have done so.

Waiting five+ months for Dynatrac 60/80 axles and Kings shocks from Evo for my JT. I Know shocks are not Evos fault. Decided to put on a lift kit and some workable shocks on for 37s' with the stock axles. I'll run it like this till I get the parts. I'll sell these parts off later. I need to have the use of the JT this summer. I want the 60/80 axles. You never know, the JT might might grow up into a V8 and or 42s'.

I'm about the same with two weeks being my threshold. I also cannot stand buying something online only to get an email saying that the item is out of stock. Why the fuck could you not update it like the dozen or so other items that say "out of stock".

I'd say it really depends on what the part is. If it is say shocks or coils or a tie rod IMO those parts should be stocked somewhere and a week or 2 seems reasonable. In the case of axles or like the trail ready beadlocks I just ordered I understand it takes time for things made to order and while I'd love to have it ASAP 1-2 months seems reasonable to me.
I waited just over 4 months for my PR44 and I thought that was a bit nuts considering I ordered one of their packages that they probably have multiple sitting already done minus gears.

We seem to be living in a perfect storm of manufacturing and shipping trouble. Every factory around me is looking to hire right now. Most, who never really advertised hiring, are now putting up large banners in their yards, or having job fairs. Trouble is, a large number of people are content to not even want to work if they keep getting $$$ from Uncle Sam.
I'm afraid this won't settle out for a long time.

This is a good point: Waiting is one thing, but when they take your money before it ships, sorry, that pisses me off. If we're talking a matter of days, eh, no biggie. Weeks or months? That's BS unless you're buying some kind of made to order custom part.

Can you explain that logic? How are wheels any different than shocks, coils or tie rods? 🤔

I could be wrong but I do believe the trail readys are made to order because you can get custom back spacing. And they are a custom powder coat color. Maybe other wheels that only come in 1 back space or 1 color those might take less time. But I'm not surprised or annoyed my TR took a month or so

It really depends. If I'm ordering some "standard" part, a few days is all I'm willing to wait. But some things you are just stuck. Just received a new bumper/tire carrier and it took 3 months. I have to say though, six months is ridiculous!

Wow, over 4 months for a package?? That's not right. Maybe for a custom axle. I'm sorry to hear it.

TR makes nice wheels and I liked the ones I had. The problem they have isn't a custom thing though, they're just having a lot of trouble manufacturing wheels right now. It's sad to say but I'm kinda surprised they're still in business.

I ordered some Rock Krawler parts from Quadratec about two months ago and when I checked on the status Quadratec said Rock Krawler would not return their calls or emails so they have no idea!! I understand the issue with not able source items but at least have the courtesy to let us know! I will never order Rock Krawler parts again.
