Deja vu. AYFKM!!!! Looks like both EVOs are out from overheating issues.

Shame cuz it was fast!

Um...wtf? Overheating again? Not good at all. This is gonna be bad press for evo again.

Not an "EVO built" issue by any means. Sometimes the parts you run that are made by others do fail. It's part of racing, this is not driving down the PCH going site seeing. No bad press for EVO what so ever ;)

He was in top 3 of ALL racers and DNF because of a fan. So where is bad EVO press from that. Maybe if you were out here you'd know the positives of what's actually being said in the pits brother.

That's not how racing or the press really works.
They see that said entry had a DNF. No one cares that is was or was not because of a part that they manufactured.
It can also be argued that if said company were so good, why would they of overlooked this?

It's part of the game - they'll learn along the way. In any professional, club, or National level of competition, it takes more than a few races to be on top.
Look at the Baja series. Many experienced teams have failures - from the stock rear engine air cooled Beetles to Trophy Trucks and Truggys.

Maybe getting in touch with some of the Scandinavians who compete in formula hill climbing would help?

.....and again, this is racing. There is no bad press for Off Road Evolution from this event. We are out here having blast, if the team breaks a race car, we learn what to improve upon. So despite any mishaps, catastrophic malfunctions and explosions, any EVO customers will be receiving the experience of what worked best in the harshest conditions.

That's funny how this thread went from the ultra 4 race to how EVO is going to get bad press from a malfunction.

thats because human beings are inherently douche bags.... good showing by EVO and both their rigs... racing means shit breaks, it happens!

All the fan boys need to relax. I love evo as much as the rest of you. As most of you know they built my rig, and it'll be going back in to evo shortly for some additions. Evo was being clowned all over the web (obviously not on WOL) after the last koh race with the dnf, and especially the mishap with the roll cage being built too small for the co driver.
People aren't going to look at the details and reasons. Wasnt trying trying to get everyone's panties wadded up here, but I guess I did anyways. :idontknow:

Agreed. The last race issues were ridiculed and that's what I figure will happen again. For the reasons you posted previously that the TJ is excelling on the track, there are jealous folks out there. They will spread some shit about this I'm sure. It's sad but that's how it goes. I'm sure Mel is gonna get this working right. He is determined and has a great crew. I just don't like reading all the bs people wrote about the last race

Don't post on here often, but I wanted to share our fun experience at this event. When we got there, Lisa and Harley gave us the warmest hugs and Mel joked that at least his helmet worked. It was also cool to meet Greg and Andrew who had their hands full working the pit. Anyways, here are some pics (a lot of them are poser pics).

Always going to be jealous of Greg's rig.

So jealous in fact, we snuck a poser pic while Greg was helping out with the TJ. Btw, Greg, thanks for being so generous! Asia fell in love with it

Jay,
Great to meet you and Asia! Can't wait to see your rig too. Hope to see you guys out on the trails or at the races again ;)
