Exactly. Does Eddie pay less at Offroad Evolution than say me? Of course. The point is, his videos, forums, etc generate A LOT OF MONEY for those companies, the same principle as sponsors on Nascars. If Dynatrac didn't receive more money BECAUSE of Eddie, they would have no financial interest in sponsoring him. It is simple business. I know a bunch of people that are "sponsored" by manufacturers, but it's not a real sponsorship because the company doesn't get higher sales figures from said people.

I can promise you that Evo sold a lot of rocksliders simply by watching the bashing they take on the WOL videos. A lot of parts on my Jeep are SOLELY there due to the fact that I saw the abuse they can take, no one sold me on anything. I have also seen (on other forums) where people said "Eddie hates AEV" and the same trolldom starts with Eddie bashing....in reality, Eddie and I discussed AEV many times, and both of us agreed that AEV makes some amazing products, but also some crap. Some people can't handle the truth, and that's the reality of it.

Butthurt is a virus of epidemic proportions these days.
 
I am not going to read 21 pages, but I just want to say and have said if before....Eddie and Cindy have done sooooo much for the jeep community with videos, write up...etc. I've watched the videos dozens of times over and used his write ups. I do not have a highly customized rig like some members. I truly love this site and do not understand the bashing they have so much for than any other forum I've been on or seen.....Now, where's my shot glasses dammit!:D
 
I've been out of the country and on vacation so haven't been on in 3 weeks, and this is the first thread I read! Classic! :cheesy:

I'm not going to overdo assumptions. But I think to say Eddie is "sponsored" by these (or any) vendors isn't really a true assumption. At the end of the day, those arrangements are none of our business, because it is Wayalife, LLC's business. For people to say anything about Eddies business practices is beyond me as none of us are/were in the room when Eddie conducts business.

I read this forum quite a bit, i post infrequently, because I prefer to listen and learn before i spout off an opinion, but I am inclined to here. This asinine behavior has become so common. People tend to be so tough and smart and opinionated behind their computers, and magically, less so in real life... As others have stated here, this is really ridiculous, we ALL have a common interest in having fun with our jeeps. This forum has provided good education and entertainment. If people don't like it, why read it? This BS energy could and should be directed at way more productive fights, like making sure we all have fun, safe, clean places to wheel. Like making sure access rights aren't being taken away and stupid laws aren't getting passed that effect us all. But instead, let's attack a guy in stupid and creative ways because we don't like his opinions and observations... So said guy found a way to get paid to do something he loves and provide some information. Good for him.. Move on with your life.. Go accomplish something.... Rant over. Back to observing..

Thats exactly my point, it is a business, HIS business, meant to feed his family....and last time I checked, and I check every morning, this is still the USA, and he can conduct business any which way he pleases. Just like Chipotle and their no open carry policy, if someone disagrees with the way Eddie conducts business, they are free to not patronize him, and go elsewhere. Identical to Chipotle, there are many mexican places to eat, and there are many other jeep forums. I have never seen Eddie do anything that I would qualify as "over the line".....he is simply protecting his business interests, and I would call him an idiot if he DID NOT protect his interests.

Hate is a powerful thing...99% of those trolls would drop their career and take over Eddie's in a heartbeat.

I used to laugh at all the back and forth that goes on between Camaro/Mustang and Import/Domestic of the car scene, but I really am baffled with this. We all have Jeeps. We all enjoy modifying them. We all enjoy wheeling, whether it's rocks, dunes, mud, or the always dangerous mall crawling. Whether or not you like what someone else says or does, should not matter to you if you are not directly affected. All I have seen Eddie do is point out the dangerous flaws with a product that he has seen. How people find that to be "bashing", I have no idea. Either way, if someone wanted to dislike what anyone says, or what anyone does, and even say that they don't like it, I'm cool with that. It takes on a whole other level of crazy to make things personal of someone's opinion that doesn't actually have anything to do with you. Especially when it gets to a level of getting phone numbers, addresses, and threats of physical abuse. If Eddie really wanted to, he could very easily turn those over to the police and have those guys prosecuted, especially Matti. I'm just amazed at the stupidity that we currently live in.

I've been on the internet since the days of gopher, archie, ftp, telnet, and lynx and connected waffle bbs's.
Every now and then someone would go off an post something that would make me think "WTF is wrong with people?"

Kinda warms the heart to know some types of people will always be around.

Pump the breaks. I love _eddit! I am a participating member there as well. Ive only seen a couple of posts that mention wayalife. None bad. One of which was (paraphrased) damn those wayalife guys have some nice rigs.
 
Ive read most these pages, all the same info pretty much page to page. Ive came to realize alot of trolls are just jealous of Eddie's success. I started on jkf when I first got my jk, I didnt know any better, I made my way over here and will never leave. Wayalife has showed me so much I didnt even know, I have only met a handful of fellow wayalifers, but I would gladly defend each and every true wayalifer.

I love it too!! But when you go to the depths of it you know what your gonna see. But you at least know its a dark corner. No one there is stupid enough to make their trolling public like on Facebook.

Wow. I read the whole pirate thread. Those mf hate to a new level. They are seasoned trolls to the likes I never knew existed. They know what they are doing. Regardless. I appreciate this forum. I was on JKF first and honestly, it sucked. I went to a meet and greet and not a single person acknowledged I was there. Even when I commented on their rigs. I quickly left that forum and have been happy here. I have learned a lot and am always entertained. Thanks again Eddie and Cindy. :thumb::beer:
