Most of the "weak" live in large urban areas and survive day-to-day based on shipments from Amazon Prime and piles of stuff just offloaded from a truck at Costco.
From what I have seen, most people's survival in the USA is quite tenuous given that it depends on a JIT economy. Humans need to drink water at least every two days. A small disruption in the force leads to rapid calamity. Anyone who has already experienced a tiny disruption in the force should already be keenly aware of this.
