Caught the Bug
I’m running 39” KM3s on stock Dana 44s. I’ll admit they are too much tire for how I use my Jeep. Pretty sure I bent my front axle (either the tubes or c’s, not positive.)
I knew they would probably end up being too much for the axles when I bought them though.
Of course I may have been looking for a reason to upgrade axles too.

It's not the height per se, but what that height brings to the table... More weight, more stress, etc. Anything over 35s, and probably even 35s, you should be reinforcing the axle Cs, upgrading to chromoly axle shafts, regearing, upgraded ball joints. Over 37s, you should be looking at aftermarket axles for sure, especially if you do any wheeling.

And I'm not sure why you need to ask at all if you're in fact sure people "break stock axles with stock tires." Sounds like you should sell your Jeep and buy something else without solid axles and ask on their specific forums if you can run 39" KM3s.
And where the hell are you coming up with your responses? Every single tire is not made true to size - but smaller. And they get even smaller with the load of a Jeep on them. As Eddie said in his OP on this thread, everybody goes by the sidewall. That's all you need to know. But on the other hand nobody is stopping you. It's your Jeep. And if you actually do "know who Eddie is" and actually do "watch his channel" you'd know more about this then. Have a good day

Thanks for the valuable information. I'd like the think that jeep made the D44 strong enough to handle an upgrade on tires, but i guess it depends on the terrain that you take it on.

Like I said previously, I understand that people go off the sidewall when referring to sizes.

37s+ on an unreinforced D44 and a speed bump at the mall might bend it.

I run 37 KO2s on my Dana 30s. Run what you want but be ready to fix it if it breaks. If you can't afford to fix it then stay away from the rocks and go easy on the gas pedal.
