If you can't get your hands on a handheld CB, let me know. I might have one you can use.

Isn't its FCC license for use during Baja only.....haha

I believe so but I don't think anyone else knows that

Funny thing is, we have EVO channels programmed in our radios and anytime we use them, we get law enforcement telling us to get off their channel. This is the case in your neck of the woods and it even happened up on the Rubicon. During that JKX, the US Forestry service pulled us over because of it.

Dang I reprogrammed mine the day I got it. Defaults were all wiped. Time to play with this.

Well that's a bummer.

Just curious Eddie...what do you estimate our mileage from the meet up location till we get off the trail and to the nearest gas station?...I only have 150 mile range (highway driving)...

Since we're in the subject. Can you guys enlighten me on race radios? I've ran CB's for a bit but I have no idea what the race radios are or their intended purpose.

From where we start to the point where you can get gas again, we're probably be looking at about 100 miles... maybe a bit less. You should be fine.

Race radios are kind of like hams only they operate on a VHF frequency. They have good range and so long as you have a decent signal, they typically sound clearer than a lot of CB's.

I'm bringing my rotopax and likely won't need the gas in them so if needed, I can help out with extra fuel [emoji106]
