Got promoted to Battalion Chief last week. Haven't gotten my first check and I'm filling out an application for Deputy Chief. Unexpected opportunity, you have to go for it!
 
Bills are paid and everyone is healthy. I may hit the trials this weekend; life is good.

Bought a home a few years back. In the process right now to sell it for nearly double...

Couple months back I put a transfer in at work thinking I wouldn't get it. Well long story short I got it unexpectedly and now we are in the process of buying a nice home on 3 acres in the central coast.

Hope escrow closes on both in a timely manner and it all goes through.
Ready or not we are moving. lol

Thought sure we were gonna take it in the jeans with the IRS 'cause we always do. Through some careful planning (there's a first time for everything) we're breaking even. "Good news" indeed.:thumb:
 
I looked in the obituaries this morning, and did not see my name listed!
So it's another good day!:yup:
 
After allot of shopping around with the wife we came to agreement and are now in the process of buying our very first home. I'm 23 she is 21 and we are about to be proud owners of a 2,300 sqft 3 bedroom 2 bath home with the best part being a garage that my jeep will fit in !!! For now anyway haha.

Congratulations on your first home. I was excited when I moved into my first home. It was just beginning to snow when we moved in and it ended up being the blizzard of '95. I wasn't too excited about having to shovel a new driveway after that.

^Wow, 2300 sq ft.,with a garage (maybe to work on the Wrangler), that is awesome!:thumb:
 
I coach my Daughters U14 soccer team. We traveled 4 hrs south this weekend to Riverside Ca. for a tournament. Beat a team from Upland 2-0 in the championship game. Plus my girl scored both the goals!!! Sounds like I'm bragging, but I'm just very proud of her and the team.

Bragging about your kids is understandable and somewhat expected. That's really cool. I coach my son's soccer team and we made it to the area finals. Lost in a mud bowl several weeks back. I was proud then. Winning as you have done is awesome and I'm sure you'll have that memory to share forever. Congrats on being a cool dad. :thumb:
