The Adventures of Fiona - '08 JK Rubicon 2-Door

Removed the gate and took her on a test drive after the liposuction. She sits about an inch or so higher in the rear now and I can definitely feel the weight loss in the way she handles.

Granted, the rear is completely empty now except for the tire up on the new rack... Once I finish the wiring for the lighting relocation I'll load her up before messing with the suspension.

Sounds like it's working out good.

I know mine feels like a whole new Jeep with everything unloaded.
Of course that will change, but I am going to edit out some unnecessary items and hope to save some weight

Lol. I think you were carrying the equivalent of a second Jeep. Hopefully you can weed out the unnecessary. On the other hand, I learned that there's a lot you can do with cement stakes. [emoji1787]

Some things have to stay.

Part of my problem was duplication. I would have something, forget I had it, and see the same thing and think I needed one, so in it went.

I'm thinking about once a year I need to empty everything and start over.

A bit more progress today... Spread the rack bars and dropped the basket in-between them so she has a lower profile now. The new Rotopax should get here tomorrow so I can wrap up the rear.

Fixed her headlights. Tomorrow I'll fix the rock lights and redo the fuck you lights and chase lights in the back. Hopefully I'll be able to do the front air bumps, oil change, and gear oil change (now that I finished the break-in).

Got the headlights fixed, new chase lights mounted to the tire rack, and found that my shade works under the new top so I can roll it up and go topless but not roast whenever I feel like!

Rotopax showed up today so I could finish up the rear... Problem was that the Ace Tailgater was designed to fit individual 2G packs, not the single 4G packs that I bought. [emoji35]

With a little ingenuity and a lot of cutting and grinding, I solved that problem and even modified the factory 3rd brake light to mount on the gate.

All in all, I figure I shaved at least a couple hundred pounds from behind the rear axle.

Thanks. I thought you had a carrier for your rotopax already... ?

There's still some stuff I want to get done before tomorrow, but we'll see how it goes.

The gear oil had some chunks in it (on the magnet), but it may have been leftovers? I rolled the gears and didn't see anything missing. No noise so far and everything seems solid, so fingers-crossed, we did everything right.
