Shark "Tank"

I would disconnect the battery and discharge the system before digging too deep. Sometimes glitches like this work themselves out.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! That worked, at least for now. We’ll see if it becomes a recurring problem.

Replace all four doors with Mopar half doors...problem solved

That is a fantastic solution, but I would want power locks on my half doors. Can a borrow your credit card number? [emoji106]

Check the wiring with a multimeter at the quick connect to ensure it’s getting the pulse, if so then yeah lock module.

That was a good call too and was going to be my next step after the battery disconnect...and certainly before pulling the door trim (I’ve done that once before on my 2009 and it was a PITA!)

The Shark Tank now has a new switch. ;)

This mod is definitely not for everyone, especially anyone who spends a lot of time off road in the rocks. My son wasn’t happy with how quiet his Dynomax exhaust was so he saved up and bought a Screamer system. The switch runs a valve in the exhaust.

When the valve is open, the exhaust runs straight through the muffler and is very load. When the valve is closed, the exhaust snakes through the muffler and is tamed down but not as tame as stock.

The off road clearance on this system is not good, and the exit pipes are huge.

On the plus side though, there is no drone (either open or closed) and when it’s open, it’s very loud (it passes the 16 year old boy test for being obnoxious driving around the neighborhood late at night). [emoji23][emoji23]

They make a blacked out version but it was about another $100. I’m going to spray this one with high temp black to make it disappear a bit.

Being that we've all been there..... and know he will grow out of certain things. I think it's cool that he's having fun with it. :thumb:

So the Shark Tank’s driver’s side door won’t lock/unlock using the key fob or power button. The window works fine. All others doors work fine. Thoughts? Actuator?

I did a write up on something similar with my drivers side door. It was the little plastic “clip” inside the door that had broken rendering the pull cord useless.

In my case I could “hear” the door trying to do something but it wouldn’t unlock. The manual key lock worked fine in my case. Yours?

I’ll see if I can find the thread.

Edit:
See if this might be similar. Actually wasn’t that hard to fix, but did need to order part on amazon.

Ran a wire with a diode from the dome light to the rock lights. Now the rock lights come on temporarily when you unlock the doors or open a door. Very simple and pretty cool mod.

That’s actually a good idea...especially if your daughter starts using the Jeep and parks in a parking structure...

Did this years ago and it's still one of my favorite simple mods!! I did put an additional switch between the diode and the rock lights in order to be able to "disconnect" the rock light from the dome light should there be a need to turn on interior lights without the rock lights, like when rolling down the freeway.

But that's what all the cool kids do...haha. One day I'll have rock lights and I'll probably do the same thing.

I really like this mod. The rock lights turn on when you open the door and instantly turn off when the door is closed, just like the interior lights. It's helpful for people getting in and out of the Jeep (especially lifted) at night.
