My Side Piece

I’ve been a part of the madness for a few years and figured it’s time to post up my build. I call her my side piece because my wife stays I spend more time with the damned Jeep than with her!

It’s a 2012 JKUR Call of Duty that I bought in early 2018 and had never been Offroad. It had an AEV 2.5” lift and 315/70R17 tires on it and thought it was awesome!

After taking it to Windrock a few years ago I realized I wanted more! So the build began!
Installed EVO 4” springs, Core4x4 T4 control arms, Dynatrac ProRock 44, RCV axles, 5.13 gears, 37’s, etc. prior to going out to Moab last year for the East meets West event. My goal was to keep the body stock and to put the money under the Jeep. It performed amazingly!!

The setup was good but the tires rubbed on the front and rear bumpers at full stuff and the fronts rubbed on the seat at and control arms. It drove me crazy so I decided to make a few changes...

Installed new KMC tank beadlock wheels to gain width on the stance. Unfortunately now the tires also rubbed the fender flares! Uhhhhhhhh!!!!

So my original wish to keep the body stock went out the window. First change was replacing the front bumper. I had planned to cut the AEV bumper but while mapping it out and planning, my wife came out and said “Why don’t you just buy a new bumper”. In comes the new EVO 1/4 pounder!!!!

I dig the Tanks!!! I’ve been eyeing them for a while now!
Thanks! I had to wait about 4 weeks for them to come in! It’s weird, they don’t require any balance weights, whereas the AEV Savegre wheels had about 4oz each on them. But I also removed the TPMS sensors, so maybe that helped.

Really coming along. Those fenders and bumpers give it a much more aggressive look!
Thanks Bill! My 15 yr old daughter says they make it look more rustic....
Honey, you mean rugged and aggressive right? Yes, that’s what she thought rustic meant! Haha!!!

Looking great! I really like what you did with the rear bumper too!
Thank you! It’s a budget job! Haha! Credit to wjtstudios though. Saw his rear bumper mod in Moab and really liked how it turned out. I did leave a 4” stubpipe on each side to maintain the jacking points.

My son and I took the Jeep to Dry Creek yesterday for a little R & R. It’s located in the tri-state area where Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee meet. It’s called Dry Creek because all the creeks are spring fed and run strong even through the summer months. There are probably 15-20 creek crossings and several waterfalls that are pre

This was the first time we’ve been off road since the beadlocks, bumper mods, and fenders. The wider stance really makes the Jeep so much more stable...very noticeable. Biggest thing is NO rubbing anywhere!!! It’s so quiet going over the obstacles. So nice!
