Jeepers who workout, weights and gym thread

Thanks to you guys for this thread. Reading it got my ass back into the gym. It's been 5 weeks now and I've gained 10 pounds and lost almost 2%.
Supps as of right now.... ON mass gainer protein powder (1280 calories per scoop), Cremagnovol by AllMaX Nutrition (creatine blend), B4 thermogenic by BPI, BCAA's by BPI.

2 days on in the gym, 1 day off, also in there; 3x week kickboxing.

Damn dude! I made the mistake of taking a preworkout in the afternoon once...then didn't fall asleep until about 3 am. Was late for work and never did that again. Maybe I just haven't established a good tolerance but I'll stick to my NO3. Not sure what a good one is, but I just take the Arnold line from MP. Can't remember the name atm. Any other suggestions?

MP products are being accused of protein spiking which is a shame. Im on prosupps now. but Jym products are sooo good. Just kimd of expensive

Wow didn't know that. Glad I'm almost out. Lol. Have seen some of the Jym products, but haven't tried them yet. Guess now is a good time.

Hell yea, dude! Crush it!!!

I have used c4 and animal products in the past. They do nothing for me now. Everyone is different, but I now just take a cup of black coffee as my preworkout and within a half hour use optimum nutrition whey. Other than that it's just low fat meats and tons of vegetables. Can't complain about performance. I've found that too complex of a diet and workout routine just increase your chances of failure and undesirable results, which in turn makes you give up. It helps my brother is a physical therapist and personal trainer.

C4 is junk.

Youre right, preworkout drinks are not necessary. Generally i stick to unflavored nutrition supplements like glutamine and beta alinine and take the pre for the following reasons:

I hate coffee
I need to wake up and it feels like crack lol
I pick a pre with a good dose of beta alinine or creatine or its a waste
Flavorize the unflavored ones

Really its because im a pussy and want my bcaas to taste good lol

Lol, bcaa's make almost anything taste like crap

I'm a personal trainer and nutrition coach (own my own biz)... Stuff like C4, etc. really wreaks havoc on your metabolism and hormones after a while which is why you need to "cycle" off the pre-workouts, etc. IMO the only type of supplements I take and recommend to my clients are stimulant free ones. I'm a HUGE fan of Clutch Bodyshop products. They are $$, but well worth it. Their pre-workout is amazing and stimulant free, but it gives a serious boost and pump to your workouts!

I just started using the MusclePharm Assault.

Not bad, smells like crap but tastes like a strawberry margarita.

Well done sparky! That's awesome! BT JP, JK (s) what are your thoughts on a good NO product?

Skip it.

Watch stoppani's videos. If youre gonna invest in supplements look up what aids your goal. Creatine, protein and bcaa's are staples for me

NO Cannon has been working good for me. I took MP assult for years. The new formula made my skin crawl if I took too big of a scoop

Getting too old for all the crazy stim supps these days but still like a good pump for picking up something heavy after a long day at work...

Rock climbing, hiking, biking, lifting, and yoga here. 6'1" 240 lbs working my way back down to 200 lbs again like I was last year before a couple rock climbing injuries.

Any workout routine recommendations for gaining mass & strength? I'm currently 200lb at 5'7" and have been doing a simple home workout at consisting of this http://www.building-muscle101.com/simple-home-workout.html.
I have been taking in 600 extra calories totaling 3000 via gainer but I do work in construction which burns more than most people. Am I going in the right direction? Thanks
