I was thinking the same thing my uncle used to bring home big caches of bluegill. That was dinner.

We love catching and eating bluegill. I probably go fishing for them once a week in the warm months. Nothing like a fish fry...

When I was a kid, we would catch them in a lake that had a red clay bar near the shore. We would make a fire, then cover the bluegill completely in clay, and throw them on the coals. The clay would bake rock hard, and we would break them with a rock and eat the fish…they were delicious

Finishing up a couple more rows of stonefly nymphs before tying up some beetle/cicadas…heading to Dutch John in the morning to fish the Green for a week…

I originally was going to take Brute on this trip…but I’m staying at the Flaming Gorge resort, so no camping…and honestly, I love driving the 392

Conditions were not ideal…there was still some snow in places. On and off wind, mostly upriver…at times fierce

We still managed some nice fish, including this 5lb pig…

Did a little more fishing today. Eventually I'll break down and take the boat out and do some crappie fishing.
