My wife and I were on a plane back from Georgia once and we heard and felt an explosion under our feet after takeoff. Shortly after the cabin smelled like burnt rubber. It was obvious to me that a tire blew but everyone got real quiet and you could hear murmuring throughout the cabin.

Finally the captain came on the speaker and announced that we had, in fact, had a tire blow and they were communicating with their base. He then said, "we've got 6 hours to figure it out, so hopefully they'll come up with something." Needless to say, it was a long 6 hours. 😂

As we were getting close to LAX, he came on again and said, "We only lost two and we have six... They tell me we'll be okay but they're gonna meet us with fire trucks and emergency vehicles just in case." That was a long 10 minutes till we were safe on the ground. 😂😂

My first time at Fordyce with cheap “rock sliders” from Amazon resulted in a boogered fender and crushed rocker panel. Gas tank skid took some abuse too. IMG_0576.JPG IMG_0577.JPG

Haha! I can only imagine that. I don't drink but might partake in 1 or 2.
I think the fact that I recognized the jeep pulling as a sign and got slowed down to under 40 before that happened helped to minimize the outcome.

Maybe check the valve stem-possibly you got some crap in there wheelin and it lodged in the stem and caused the valve to not close completely, leaking air out as you drove. Or if you remove valves to air down it didnt seat right as well, which allowed leaking once you filled them back up.
Very glad to hear no one was hurt. That could very easily have become tragic.

I guess after all the whoops that we bombed across (and maybe that one time we got some air), 8 years and well over a 100,000 miles of abuse, it was no surprise that something had to give. Here are a few shots of the control arm that we broke on Moby while on the New Year Kick Off run.
