Caught the Bug
Well now that Weston is offically on it's way to the East coast and several hours of deep discussion with my amazing wife it's time to start looking for that perfect foundation for the next JKU maybe (R). I'm at the point where I'm ready and able to purchase it but am unsure on what to do. I will not be starting the deep build of this rig until late in the summer/early fall (hopefully a trip to ORE :thumb
but I'm ready to find her. The wife say's I look like a sad and depressed puppy dog when I'm Jeepless.
So my thoughts for the foundation are either buy a 15 Sport/Rubi now, in white, which I am having a real hard time with the 15 colors, nothing stands out to me (to each their own). I like white but I'm not 100% sold on it (lots of whites out there but love the fact it will hide the scratches). I have also thought about waiting until the 16's arrive to see the color options and hopefully a diesel but I'm going to have a hard time waiting :bleh:
Does anyone have an rumor ideas if more colors will be available later in 15 or how soon the diesel will be coming available? Besides the added cost is there any other reasons to steer clear of having 3.0L diesel in the JKU?
My other struggle is should I get a JKU rubi or sport?
It's really not much difference in cost by the time I sell the axles, tires and wheels, and don't have to buy an Atlas II t-case. If I go sport I'm going to run an Atlas T-case with the build. My plans for my build are a trip to ORE for DTD, 60 front 80 rear, 40's, and the seats eventually Mastercrafts. The only thing I would actually like that the sport doesn't offer is the 730N head unit.
As I'm typing this the dealer just texted me a 15 Rubi hardrock thats being unloaded from the carhauler right now.... LOL I really like the hardrock (X) hoods. Just don't think the hardrock is the way to go at all with plans to strip it of bumpers, tires, axles, seats, etc...
