Random (non-Jeep) Shit You’re Working On....

Diamond cup wheel will make quick work of that..haha.

Yeah, that's the next step. I used a diamond cutoff to get the big ridges out. There was about 1/2 height difference.

How dusty was that?

Very, lol. I had PPE to the max and a shop vac near the blade. I ordered a dust shroud for the next step. Had to clean the vacuum filter twice. I've had that shop vac for 3 years and never had to do that before.

If your using a diamond cup have someone spray a fine stream of water on it while you are doing it. Spray the cup not the grinder motor!!

So I got this dust shroud in the mail today and finished up grinding the concrete. This thing was only 20 bucks and worked amazing. I had zero dust to clean up at the end. It worked that well. I was really surprised for the price.

That's awesome. I've only ever used mine outside so I didn't care about dust. My buddy borrowed it to grind down some thin set in his house and said he had a huge mess after. I may be pulling up some tile in the new house were buying and this could be a worth while investment. I have been thinking how I would isolate the area I was working in as not to fill the house with fine dust. This may be a solution.

What are your plans for the cracks?

Gonna fill them with caulk. Then I'm going to acid wash and paint a lighter color on the entire floor to get some light reflection under the jeeps. I'm going to prep the best I can but I'm not too concerned about it looking perfect over time. I weld too so I don't expect the floor to stay pretty.

Caulk might be kinda soft... what about epoxy?

Turn the furnace off so you don’t distribute the dust throughout the house if it kicks on

If you paint it go with a 100% Solids epoxy paint and put it down thick.
