Sig Sauer P320

I own a 320C and really like it. That said my daily carry is a glock 19 or S&W shield depending on how far from home I'm headed. I could see carrying it if I didn't already own a 19.

Ohhhh shit those are fighting words to us glock fanboys! Lmao. Speaking of sig though a buddy of mine picked up a sig 365. Very concealable and great round count. Might be something to consider if you plan on carrying.

Glocks are easy shooting guns, too easy. We don’t live in Somalia. I can shoot a Glock like no ones business, fast, accurate, but not because they’re of great quality, it’s because their mechanics make way for the least resistance in order to pull the trigger. My philosophy is to make damn sure not to kill anything I don’t intend to kill, it should be your philosophy too, and if so, Glocks are not the answer ever.

I have two pistols, a Sig 229, and a SA XD-E. Both DA/SA hammer fired guns. Both allowing me the extra split second to consider my actions and extra resistance, especially on the first pull, to keep me from accidental discharge. I can consistently shoot 2-3” groups at 30ft with my Sig, a very nice weapon but not concealable in the everyday sense. My XD-E is a great single stack, extremely concealable, DA/SA pistol. I’m not nearly as accurate with it as I am with my Sig but it is a very reliable gun. The only time I had a FtF was my fault and it was easily cleared and recovered from.

Pretty sure I am dumber after reading that.

Pretty sure it was after you typed this but whatever. Most, if not all accidental discharges I’ve seen at the range are from Glocks. One might say it’s always the operators fault and I agree, the operator always picks the gun. Glocks are fun range guns but never the best home defense or everyday carry gun.

Glocks have an advertised trigger pull of 5.5 lbs, but it’s often much higher. If you are accidentally discharging a handgun, that means your finger was on the trigger, when it should not have been. Saying a 5.5 lb trigger is a, “light,” trigger is stupid.

Now go ahead and say whatever you want. This is a Jeep forum, and I’m not going to argue about gun brands.

I agree, 5.5 lbs is not a light trigger. My opinion, most gun owners aren’t qualified to carry a gun, the average gun owner does not have good trigger discipline. The Glock is not designed well for the average shooter, even with the safe action trigger. In the heat of the moment, it does’t lend itself to intentional operation in untrained hands, which most people are.

I get you think I’m a delusional idiot because, as the market proves, Glocks are the bees knees, who the hell am I to buck the accepted norm. I’m no one, but I’ve listened to the professionals, my teacher was a police officer who was a national champion in shooting 1911s and a firearms trainer for the CT state police and the New Haven police Dept. A man who has been in situations where he’s fired at and has been fired upon in the line of duty. You want to call me an idiot, fine, opinions are like assholes, but this is his philosophy and if you want to call him an idiot, I take issue with that.

What I will acknowledge is the possibility that I haven’t articulated myself in the best way but I’m not the one hiding behind a screen calling people idiots.

Edit: disregard. I’m not playing into drama. Everyone’s opinion is their own.

Lol! I’ll never understand why guys try to argue what gun is better... Glock, Sig, H&K, S&W, Springfield.... they are all more reliable and accurate than the operator... it’s all subjective to how it feels and how you train... Trying to say your gun is Better.... is stupid.

The only accidental discharge was your father into your mother. I don’t tend to play into this type of drama fest on here, but...
it’s not the gun, ever. I don’t thing I’ve ever heard of a gun jumping itself out of a drawer and shooting someone without ‘human’ interaction. With the latest spike in crime, I use the word human very liberally.

What the hell are you talking about? When did I say anything about guns jumping out of drawers? Are you a closet liberal? Talk about a triggered snowflake.

Agreed, I don’t like the way a glock feels in my hand and the point of aim is off FOR ME. That said I really like my Walter ppq in 9mm. .

Me, and my trainer, a 30 year LEO, who prefers Glocks, and who also trains other officers. Notice the Sig P228 in my hands.

I love Sigs. I just happen to now prefer to carry a Glock 19, or an M&P Shield.

You’ve got me all wrong, friend.
That’s why it’s gone...

I was comparing your invalid point that Glocks are easier to accidentally discharge to the argument of people who say guns kill people.

My mom says I have to turn the basement light off now because it bothers her cats so I have to log off now. Have a good night! ❄️

With a comment like that, I take it you're not a gun guy Sharky. The Glock has always been in the top 5 handguns in the world in terms of quality and reliability right out of the box. I don't think law enforcement would rely on them so much if they were the "Smittybilt" of the gun world. (lot of crap out there) When I bought my Sig P320, it jammed quite of few times.. I've never had that happen with any of my Glocks. I own SIGs, H&K's, Kimbers, etc. and I put the Glock right up there next to them. Having said that, my gun of choice is the Sig P229 in .40 caliber... my all-time favorite gun. I shoot pretty regularly and everyone is different in terms of what feels better in your hand and to me the Sig is the most comfortable but I carry a Glock because of how well it conceals and I would rely on it to save my life.
