Willys-Overland JT Build

How about a little build update…

4/7/21

Installed Rockhard 4x4 Rock Rails. They were well worth the wait.

The winch/bumper combination left me with a little more rake than I cared for so I swapped out the front 2” AEV spacer in favor of 3.5” JKS springs.

Had some random rock lights sitting around that I bought for a previous build but never got around to installing. Amazingly the wires were long enough to run 3 on each rock and one in the front and rear.

Installed some DIY bedsliders that I cut out of 1/2” steel. They make a great step as well as provide some protection.

I installed a DIY bed rack. Made it out of aluminum to be light and mounted it with 4 bolts so that it is easy to remove. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing but it’s purpose built. A mid height would look better but then my kayak wouldn’t clear the roof. If it was angled to mimic the body lines it would look better but I wanted to retain full use of my trifold tonneau.

Threw an oil / transmission skid plate on to protect those tranny lines.

I’m sure I missed to so there’s the cliff notes version
