While I'm waiting for the fuel cell to come in. I picked up a piece of .190" thick 4130 to make a ring gear spacer. I plan on gearing the axles to 5.13. The carrier break is at 4.56 and the current gear set is using the wrong carrier for the gears I want to use. Making the spacer was cheaper than buying a new carrier. It should hold me over until I can get an arb.

That's awesome. Nice work.

I test fit the new spacer on the carrier. Fit onto it perfectly. Put the ring gear bolts through the hole to check the alignment, they are spot on. After I put in the fuel cell, which should be here tomorrow, I'll test fit the new axle and get the 5.13 gear set.

Starting to get ready for big boy stuff. The fuel cell came today from motobilt. Just barely fits behind the rear seat.

Found that I had an upper control arm break off on the front axle. It must have cracked and worked it's way to breaking off. That'll have to get fixed before I move on with the rear swap. I pulled the front axle out and took out the driver side bushing.

Great stuff, I like all the machining posts

Fixed some ovaled bolt holes in the old axle. Going to have to put it back in while I get the new axle ready. Got the new calipers. They have the e brake built in. I think the I can use the old e brake cable.

The studs in my bump stops seized inside. I had to cut thenstufs to get them out of the springs. I re-drilled and counter sink so I could use a socket head cap screw.

Finished welding the brackets on. Taped up the spindles and yoke. Wiped the housing down with acetone to get all the oils and grease off. Primed it with acid etch primer. Painted the axle.

That looks great!

You have more restraint than I do. I would’ve painted that big bitch “Lookit Me” red! JK, and really nice [emoji106]
