THROWBACK THURSDAY - Show Us Pics of Your Jeep Back in the Day!

Yes I experienced that also. I called a couple of dealers looking around for the right one and found that one that some lady had ordered, but she backed out of the deal. So I guess I got lucky. It's also funny how the options list has changed in 20 years (carpet, passenger mirror, back seat)!

Do you remember what you paid for the '95? I think I paid $18,500  I definitely remember paying $14,500 for my first YJ in April of '91 (first year with the 4.0 motor), soft top, 5 speed, AM/FM radio, and a trac-lok!

I know what you mean about the options list...I only wanted those options due to my first experience with a Jeep, which was also a 95 YJ that my at the time fiance's Dad purchased for her when we were in college. Although it was also brand new, hers was truly a no options Jeep, no carpet, backseat, passenger mirror or power steering.

So I spent several months ordering and installing those things in her Jeep. I don't remember exactly what I paid, but it was $17,XXX, which my Dad thought was crazy for a vehicle that you couldn't lock up! Your 91 sounds like it was loaded up with that 4.0 liter and a radio!

Awesome Jeeps and stories, it's awesome seeing where everyone's obsession may have started. Here are a couple of my throwbacks.
First Jeep I bought, not bad for $750

I have had the old jeep for 3 years now. She was pretty much stock when I got her. She had a fresh paint job and 30 inch tires with no lift. Don't have many pictures of her then but this is her now. She's a 1992 model Cherokee. No air bags and the last year for wings. Only thing lacking is lockers which is going to be an upgrade soon

The day I brought my jeep home, not much done to it as of yet. Changed out hood latches, seat covers, grab bars and windshield sticker.

I can see the gears spinning in your son's(assuming) head "Let's see, I'll be able to drive in 4 1/2 years.....".

Yes you are correct on that one, he is 11 in that picture. He is always saying dad we need to do this to "our" jeep. Told him this coming summer hopefully the funds will be in place to do some things to "our" jeep. lol He is hook just like me!

My third year owning my jeep passed just a couple of weeks ago. The day I bought it was the day I went off-road for the first time!ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1449782309.551751.jpg
