Backup light upgrades?

View attachment 68940
Just threw these on today. I have them as A pillars and they're pretty bright. Hopefully my back up camera becomes useful at night now -_-

Sent from my pocket sized telecommunications and computing device.

I like how you did your brake lights down there. If I didn't have a hitch I use semi-regularly I'd do that in a heartbeat :thumb:

Thanks man! I got that idea somewhere in here. My back up camera is directly in the middle. Single best upgrade after the lift and 35's. Lol

I solved that problem with a steel rear bumper. I don't need to know what's behind me...stuff just bounces off. :D

I tested the wiring and they work! No pics because I had to hold the wires to the Pos/Neg connections of the sPOD while holding the lights but yeah, I'm glad my soldering skills have gotten good enough to actually do wiring that works lmfao tonight I'll run the wiring from the sPOD all the way to the back where the lights will be mounted. I'm excited! I also have to start on the wiring for my new, to me, LED rock lights! That's gonna be a PITA to do without them being mounted ont he Jeep so we'll see how that goes hahaha

I agree with the 80w ones listed, but I recommend getting them from amazon - just as cheap and quickly shipped, no fuss.

I tried a couple different bulbs - the 11w variety were good and worked fine. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EWOZ7XU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They were overall fine, much brighter than stock.

I then tried the 80w variety and they were great and even brighter. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LJLHX22/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They make a huge difference in brightness. Highly recommended.

Update: The lighting upgrade is amazing! Huge improvement. Does anybody know if there is a bulb upgrade for the front fogs as well? Not sure what the options are out there for these if there are any. Thanks!

Not nearly as simple. I run 3000k HIDs in my fogs (yellow) @35 watts on their own harness. Changing bulbs out won't make them more useful for bad weather. If you just want it for looks then just get an H16 led bulb and flicker harnesses from trucklite.

Thanks NFR. We don't get a whole lot of fog here in Northern CA so they would mostly be a supplement to my headlights. Like changing them into more of a driving light I guess. So with the ease of this back up light up grade and how great they work I was just looking for a plug and play replacement for those bulbs. So would just any H16 led bulb work?
