01WJ build

245/75/17 on jk rims is as big as you can go without any cutting on a 2" lift. I only had slight rubbing on mine with this setup but if you're gonna cut go bigger. Apparently 265 is a wide as you can go without spacers or different offset rims without rubbing on the rear shocks

So I think I'm gonna put a 4cylinder 2.7 turbo diesel engine in the wj if I can find a decent one for cheap. Was wondering if anyone knew if this would be a difficult task , meaning is it worth the work

Why would you do that if you have a perfectly fine v8

I think sticking with the 4.7L would be the best option unless you're really looking for a big project. Plug and play. I don't have any experience with that diesel engine.

You get the 2.7 turbo diesel in a 5 cylinder. But the problem is the transfercase lever and box sits on the opposite side to the V8. I had a V8 and have the 2.7 now. You will have to change the centre console and everything.

Here is my fairly standard 2.7 WJ. Only has a 2" spacer kit with 2" longer Rancho shocks. Tyres are still 265/70R17 but need to trim quite alot still. With the swaybars disconnected you get quite nice travel on the front.

Still haven't gotten to it yet debating replacing the entire engine plus I don't have a garage and it's been cold lol but me and my friend are gonna start tearing it open tomorrow.

Quick update the wj is enroute to the shop for a motor swap. Putting another wj v8 in it. Bushwacker fenders have arrived but won't get put on til it comes back from the shop. New 15X10 rims are on the way and I'm ordering 32s soon Andi will be adding the pod lights when it comes back as well

Sweet man. Glad to hear you went with another V8. I think you'll have less headaches that way. I'm actually considering the flares too. I keep seeing them and love the way they look on these. I don't know when, but it's on my wish list.
