2012+ Exhaust Loop Mod for EVO Long Arm?

LOL!! Apparently, you're the self-proclaimed expert here.

No, not a self proclaimed expert have a lot of experience with automotive and jeep also, just sharing what i was told, but if that is why jeep did that, that's pretty stupid with all the aftermarket exhausts and tuners u can buy.

Why does the loop exist and why is it needed? From my experience and from what i was told the loop is there because the manufacture realized there was two much power and had to slow it down, this also came from a guy that has been working on exhaust for over 30 years. I have a loop delete on my rig and have no problems and sounds amazing, but of course i also have the exhaust made by them as-well.

Your exhaust guys been sniffing too many fumes. Like someone already posted, both sides of the exhaust need to be equal lengths. Its hardly because the engine makes 'two' much power. C'mon, dpete, you're slipping up on is here :grayno:

These engines are tuned to get maximum horsepower. I think a lot of people don’t realize, getting 285 horsepower out of 220 cubic inches (3.6L), is no small feat. In the muscle car era of the sixties, getting one horsepower per cubic inch, was considered remarkable.

LOL! My mistake, you just self-proclaim that you have "a lot of experience with automotive and jeep".

Where can I buy some extra loops to get more power? My 3.8 is a tired dog.

Kind of what I was thinking. :yup:

Yea that was remarkably for that time and quite amazing at the same time, and not easy to get 285 horses outta 220 cubic inches but it can be done, i guess there is a mix of information around.

There is a reason why the loop exists. Deleting it may address clearance issues but it isn't really the best solution. Here are a couple of shots of what the loop should look like once flipped.

Will the long arm bracket clear the exhaust without modifying it? Is it just the lower long arm that will hit the exhaust when the suspension is articulating?

I’m asking because I would like to try to install the lift myself then drive to a shop that will modify the exhaust for me.

Is it just me or do these threads get you to thinking you're in the twilight zone?

Modifying the exhaust AFTER the install would prove to be difficult due to the new control arm bracket getting in the way. I would recommend that you modify the exhaust while everything is off and then complete the long arm install.

You won't have to modify the bracket, just the exhaust. If you cut it right, it will weld in right

Did the magnaflow loop delete, mid pipe to route behind trans, magnaflow exaust, programmer with unlocked ecm, and intake on the 3.6. Noticeable power increase.

Are you guys saying that should of left the loop there?

If you really believe you got an actual power increase worth mentioning, more power to you [emoji1303]

How long have you been running this setup? And did you have it properly tuned after doing all of this?
