When I was a kid we lived off grid for about 4 years and really researched alternative energy sources, wind, solar, gas generators, battery banks, high efficiency appliances Etc. At that time photovoltaic cells took more energy and cost to produce than they would ever create in their lifespan under ideal circumstances.In an effort to save the planet, I think we should take Chinas lead and completely blanket it in solar panels
I know things have improved and become more efficient but really how long do these things need to work at full capacity to pay off?
One of the guys at work is all proud of his newly financed solar system that he'll be paying on for the next 15 years (IIRC), the payment on the panels is $100 per month higher than his high average power bill
He tried to explain his math about how he was saving money because after 15 years he wont have a power bill... Dude looked at me like I had a dick on my face when I showed him the panels would need to produce at least $18K worth of electricity after they're paid for before he benefits considering there are no repairs or maintenance costs to factor in.

Definitely, I haven been to a Giants game since I saw some of them kneel during the national anthem but we started staying in Corte Madera and taking the ferry straight to the stadium for about the same cost as parking.Lol, I totally forgot about June. Probably forgot since gay pride isn't real
