Fishing Jeepers...Post Up Your Pics

I hooked a few on the recent trip to Colorado and let my 3 year old reel them in. I have never had so much fun fishing.

I was able to book a trip to the trout fly fishing mecca of the planet...the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia. I'll be fishing the Zhupanova river next mid August...average size of the resident rainbows are between 24"-28", with fish up to 35" caught weekly during the season...and this time of the year the sea run Kundzha show up...Asiatic white spot char that get three feet long, as well as salmon (silvers) just starting to show up...the go to fly pattern is a mouse imitation...

After discussing it with my wife, I'm going to celebrate my 60th birthday coming up by fly fishing the world, including Patagonia, Argentina; the Katmai/Iliamna, Alaska; North Island, New Zealand, and fish for Taiman in Mongolia...

Sounds a lot like the Miracle Mile of the North Platte river in central Wyoming. About the same fish size from 20” to 35”. I know it’s in the middle of BFE Wyoming but if you get the chance and haven’t, you should check it out too.

Do you want to fish Alaska 3rd week of July?...

Would be amazing.

It’s my goal to fish and hunt throughout Alaska some day. Especially parts that are destined for development and mining (Bristol Bay comes to mind). Would be nice to see some wild territory before it gets wrecked.

I just booked my trip for Big Ku Lodge to coincide the week before I fly out of Anchorage for Kamchatka...this Lodge is unique in that they access several different rivers by jet boat instead of only relying on float planes, which means you don't have to worry about not being able to fly due to weather...which happened to me several years ago...I've heard of guys getting stranded for a week due to weather..

Your posts are getting me pumped. I had to toss Waypoints into the DVD player to get even more psyched. lol
I haven’t fished in over a month. Cabin fever is in full effect.

We are running Dusy Ershim which, in effect, is a 3 day fishing trip...you should go

I would be totally in if I was able to. Fishing along the Dusy sounds like a blast. I recently tore a tendon in my crotch and my right side inner oblique. Not sure what’s worse. Being captive in my own bed after surgery or the initial injury.

So what you’re saying is you have time off of work and could make it then?
