Wrangler 2016, what do you want?

Or maybe they're suppose to have the 4.1 in the other Auto Trans Rubicons too. Wouldn't be the first time that Jeep's "Build & Price" thing has some incorrect information/glitches.

I have talked to two Jeep dealerships and you cannot order the 4.1 with auto to be built either so it's not just the build option on the web site. Also someone else said they tried to order the Rubicon with the auto and 4.1 but it was rejected. It might have been in this thread. So I'm thinking it's probably the 4.1 is no longer available with auto trans. Maybe the 10th anniv is an exception or a glitch. No idea?

According to the pdf shown in the above post the 4.1 is an option with the Max Tow package but if you try build one with the Max Tow it still forces the 3.73 gears with auto trans. bummer...

Needless to say.. if the 4.10 is no longer available with the auto trans I am/will not be a happy camper : /

I Have been on many videos with the head of jeep and he said that if the new grand Cherokee diesel does well then that's going to be an engine option in 2015-2016, also if they are going to get anywhere close to the concepts they've created (check out YouTube) then I'll be happy

Well guess I'm wrong then. Kind of ridiculous that you can't get a 4.10 anymore but oh well. I probably wont ever need that ratio anyway haha

it looks like they will provide you with a model with auto and the 4.10, but it will be a package that includes options you might not want.

Reading all of your comments, I believe that the majority want to be able to pick each option separately to reflect our own needs and preferences.
The marketing plan seems to be aimed at selling us packages with other options$$$$ in order to get what we want.

This may backfire on them if it comes to a point were it would be preferable to buy a cheaper model and building it up with aftermarket parts that are believe to be superior or more versatile.

My desire to acquire a diesel will probably limit my ability to choose an affordable model and will have to decide if its worth it.

Maybe I'll just buy a used one....

Signed. I may even buy a sport then use the money saved for a rubi down payment to upgrade the sport.

This is the main reason I was going to wait on the refresh, but if Jeep is going to turn the wrangler into a "gas mileage car" then I may go used as well.

The main reason I wanted the 4.10 was the ability to run 35's without totally losing all power. If I remember correctly from the chart the 4.10 should be about the same as 32's with 3.73.

He knows all and the stock headlights are amazing compared to the trucklites.:icon_crazy:

The reason why LED headlights (Trucklites and JW Speakers) are poor when compared to OEM setups is simple. First of all, their beam pattern and coverage is pretty flawed. This is clearly evident when compared to an OEM HID system. LED headlights require a more complicated projector with prism optics. The prisms are extremely complex and are expensive to produce, which is why you see them only on Cadillacs, Audis, new Acuras, etc. You also need more than one light (bulb) to illuminate the same amount of road as an HID system, which is why Acura and Cadillac have 3 lowbeam bulbs.

This is the reason they are a very expensive option on these cars. Consumer grade LED headlights are still YEARS away from being comparable to an HID/projector setup.

Oh, and BTW, yes, I know a thing or two about headlights, I have built many. I also know a thing or two about JK headlights, since I have owned most of them. I will put my Bixenon setup against any LED light. BTW, I had trucklites before finally giving up and building my own.

There really isn't a need to be rude or insulting.

Well, I've only ran two sets of headlghts in my jeep. Trucklites and OEM and I didn't switch back to the OEM ones after putting in the trucklites. ;)

They are a big upgrade from OEM (which are terrible) but in my opinion, they are still not ideal. If you are happy with them great, but I was not. Maybe it's because all my other vehicles had excellent OEM lighting and I was spoiled by them, but for now, in my opinion, as far as consumer grade lighting goes, HIDs are still superior.

Oh, I thought you were saying they were poor compared to OEM jeep headlights. And that I just couldn't figure out.

And I agree, I'd love some HID or Xenos (or whatever they hell my wife has in her Navigator). :thumb:

The online "build & price" doesn't include 4.10 for auto.

But I'm certain that it's available. Every single auto Rubi at my two local dealers have 4.10. I've also spec'ed out a couple special order builds at the dealer and they were auto w/4.10

There are a lot of Jeeps on the lot with 4.10's but when I tried to build one with 4.10's at two different dealers we couldn't get the 4.10's. Also, at one dealership with several 4.10 auto rubi's there was a fresh delivered auto rubi that did not have the 4.10 listing on the sticker like the other 4 rubi's. Could be Jeep changed their sticker format but who knows? It would be nice to get some response from Jeep about this. It may not be a big deal really but I'd just like to know if Jeep is removing this option since I intend buying my new rubi early next year and I'm wondering how much money I'll have to keep in my pocket for mods.

I have $10k saved for the down payment and I'm saving for immediate mods now. If I could get the 4.10's I'd stick with them but with 3.73's I'll need an immediate upgrade to gearing. I guess I'll find out for sure some time around Jan 2014 :)

How about bumpers that accommodate oversized spare tires (rear obviously) and a front that HAS a winch on it!
