Wines of the Week

Petrus & La Tache.jpg

The Mount Everest of French wines...a right bank Bordeaux from fabled Petrus, and possibly the greatest burgundy wine from the DRC, La Tache...

Gonna be a good weekend of wine and relaxation. Cheers to the weekend. [emoji106][emoji485][emoji485]

First stop was Santa Barbara before we made it up to Cambria. Oreana's Verdelho is one we always stop to get a couple bottles of. One for now and another for the future.

Local distillery using juice. They had a nice vodka and a great lemoncello.

Came away with quite the haul from a weekend tasting trip with Mrs JAGS. It's great to talk with staff, and owners in some cases, about the varietals and production. Learning that more of the smaller central coast producers are going organic, sustainable farming. Unlike a lot of the stuff you find in stores. Can't wait to uncork some of these.

Here's a bottle my wife & I enjoyed dining out...Spring Valley Vineyards in Walla Walla, WA...100% cabernet franc...it was delicious.

The chronic cellar's labels always stand out. I enjoy their wines.

I sort of boycotted Chronic Cellars for a little bit, just because I didn't like the direction their parents took with Peachy. I'm glad we picked up a few bottles this year as the CC wines speak for themselves. Labels are an added bonus to some good flavors.

It's been pretty damn hot lately, so the wife and I enjoyed a nice chilled Viognier and some fam time by the fire barrel the other night.

It's hot out so you sit by the fire. Got it. ;)

[emoji23] lol. Guess that does sound weird. The kids had been gone on vacation for two weeks and hadn't been able to enjoy the fire pit. The fire was for them, the chilled wine for mom and dad.
