What was done to your rig this week?

I took it up above Ramona for a quick flex test and while I couldn’t get fully flexed out, I have a pretty good idea of what else I need to do which isn’t much.
Some slight contact on the corners of the bumper is my biggest issue but nothing critical is making contact so I’m happy for now.

Damn, those things look huge! 😳

Busted down tires today…

I don’t think I’ve ever had beads harder to break than these KMC’s but I’d rather fight getting them apart than have a bead pop on the trail.

Soooo many bolts

I also washed everything and freshened up the beadlock rings. Sanded them with 60 grit on Dewalt 20v followed by some 120 grit on the DA sander. No pictures of that though.

They look good. Love the backhoe de-beader, much easier and faster than a hi-lift. 😂

drove from Texas to Utah towing a 4x8 trailer, cylinder 3 misfire code when making a steep climb in New Mexico when rpm's hit about 4000 🙈 🤬

Used tap shift the rest of the way making sure to keep rpm's below 3500, made all but 1 climb in Colorado with no further issue and was able to maintain speed within 5mph except the climb in Colorado which slowed me to 40 (in a 65) mph to keep rpms at 3000.

I'm debating on where to have it checked, in Utah but I feel prices are higher; or since I'm going back to TX for Xmas, have the mechanic I use there do the repair.

Misfires are always discouraging. Way to stick it out. Glad you made it.

Was it on the JK?

the JLU, luckily I was able to identify the RPM range where it would happen and anything below that it would operate without an issue.
That said, perhaps the tick I've been hearing since new is getting worse and what's causing it to misfire at the higher RPM.

Where did you get those little toe clamps?
lol…. With a set of 5 point harnesses. They’re for bolting the seatbelt to the roll cage

ETA: with the coopers these and a few Irwin rod clamps were mandatory, with the Maxxis I just needed to move these little cleats a few times as I worked around the bead.

I did end up using these on tires 2 and 3 but just to act as an extra hand to get the last 6” of bead started

Had Fitcam camera installed in the truck. It fits perfect and looks oem. Easy set up and no need to run wires to the battery or other power source though it comes with the wire and all the connector. For my application it powers straight into the auto dimming mirror.
How are you liking this dash cam? I’m in the market for one for the Escalade. Already picked the garmin mini out for grizzly bear (doesn’t take up much windshield space).

Love the simplicity of it and the fact how well it blends in. Recording is constant and sharp.
Sometimes if I try to connect through the app, CarPlay kicks me out, another words it takes over the phone so to speak which could be annoying, yet I haven’t touched anything since the install and if need be I’ll just get the mini sd card out to review the footage on the computer.

Thanks for the review. Might go for this one.
