What brought me to WAYALIFE

Not long after i got my first jeep, I began researching and learning everything i could about Jeeps. I began to hear whispers of a man named "Eddie" who was framed as a troublemaker; a goon with a lack of morals comparable to that of a North Korean dictator. After finding and watching as many of the JK Experience videos I could, I decided to give Wayalife a chance.

Surprisingly, despite talk of these forums being full of "JK master race"'ers and stuck up asshats, I found myself in a wonderland of Jeep knowledge. Members helping eachother with technical issues, organizing events, or simply discussing life; there was no toxic behavior towards anyone favoring a certain company or brand, and no obvious advertising of sponsors.

In fact, as i lurked my way through these forums, i found that the only people that really exhibited the toxic behavior they warned about, were the very people who trashed Eddie and the Wayalife site.
I am glad I gave you guys a chance, and keep on doing you Eddie[emoji16]

Cool post, I'm glad you enjoy the site. Most who don't usually have something to prove or are just pansies.

Glad to hear. I concur. I actually watched the youtube videos for several years before even realizing there even was a forum. The Wayalife.com link on one of the videos one day brought me here. I hadn't even heard of any issues with WAL or Eddie until I was on the forum, but like you said, the issues really come from the continual bashing toward WAL from others outside the forum rather than the other way around. It really surprised me how many haters are out there and so far, nothing to really back it up, most of it is hearsay from what I gather. I never see WAL members talking crap about other forums. At least the guys here have a good sense of humor when the haters come out to play.

Great thread! My introduction to WAL was brought to me by seeing a Jeep with a windshield banner. I logged in and found information backed by real experience vs. the "other" forums I had previously visited. Even with the trolls showing up sometimes, this is the absolutely the best automotive type forum I've had the pleasure of being a part of.

Yeah I started on another forum that I thought was comparable. Most of them thought of themselves as engineers but without any knowledge or sense. So I came to WAL and found people looking to share knowledge and just the right amount of deserved harassment. Been watching eddies videos for a few years now though [emoji106]

Good post. I no longer visit other forums. No need to. Everything I need is covered here. Welcome!

What brought me to Wayalife.

Welcome to WAL. Totally agree. That's why I only use this forum. The collected knowledge/information/write-ups from this site is second to none. :thumb:

Welcome to WAL! I can honestly say that it was the Wayalife videos and the camaraderie observed that pushed me to join the JK and Jeep world.

I wish I found this forum before the others, then I would of made a more educated decision on my mods.

I found WAL once I decided to put of lift on my jeep. I was researching what all was needed in regards to installing the lift and found the alignment write-up. It was required to have an account to view the write-up. I than started reading the forum and haven't left.

I too started out elsewhere and read all the bullshit out there. But I noticed that I kept finding my way to this site through my Google searches time and time again. So, I actually decided to do as I constantly preach to my kids: Make up your own damn mind about people and don't take someone else's word. Bingo!

Funny, all the keyboard warriors and people looking for approval instead of honest opinions are the ones with issues here. Don't ask a question if you cant deal with the answer.
I've found this site to be like a locker room. Guys being guys and occasionally someone gets their ass snapped with a towel. Big damn deal. Deal with it like a big boy or move on....

And one more thing.....I am constantly amazed how quick the trolls are outed here! Half the time I miss all the fun and find out after the fact but the Mods here do an outstanding job of rooting them out. Usually with hilarious results!

My JK and I are both stock, newbees, fresh meat to the jeep experience blogosphere. So glad to be here too!

I came over when JK Forum changed ownership. I just had to follow the best of the best and that's what's here on WOL, welcome from North of the boarder.

Great post DJ4K!!
I've known Eddie since 2007. Been on his forums,
Been on trips 1/2 way across the country and all over the south west. I can say he his a true friend, great teacher, and is just fun to hang out with. These idiots that bash are just self serving.
You will enjoy it here. Maybe we'll meet on the trail in the future.
Take care.
