What brought me to WAYALIFE

I lived at 18th and Hermosa Ave for 4 years (08-12) in HB. Miss that place like crazy. It was the true endless summer.

I hear that. I love it! I use to live on Manhattan Ave between 19th 21st just above where you use to live. I live off of 31st now.
Where you live at now?

Charlotte NC. I was out there as an engineer for the GC that built the new international at LAX. I would kill for a PBR tall boy from barnacles, a pint at north end, or a schooner at the yacht club right now.

The local spots! I hear ya. I'm out in Texas for work and would love to be in Socal rite now. The rain, the wife, and little one.

Back in early '12, I stumbled onto a video clip of a JK-Experience and have been hooked since and then I looked up the WAL website at the end of one of the videos. I bought my Jeep in late '12 and hoping I can get my Jeep trail ready like the ones I see in the videos. Thanks Eddie & Cindy

I ended up here as result of running into an ongoing wayalife video shoot at SEMA, glad I came. The other forum was starting to annoy...

I'll chime in too.
I watched about 10 wayalife vids just when I got my JK (winter wheeling bug usually best fought by youtube lol) and was really surprised what a mildly built JK could accomplish, also the real cool attitude the guys in the videos had and thought "that's exactly what jeepin is about". I like the overal atmosphere of this forum vice some of the others out there which usually turn into a d*$k measuring contest of random component knowledge.

Good job gents and I'm happy and proud to be a new member.

What brought me to Wayalife.

Prior to buying my JK my hobby was roadracing streetbikes at tracks throughout the Southeast (Daytona, Barber, VIR, CMP etc.). The racing community was very tight knit and there wasn't a person at the track that wouldn't help you wrench on the bike after a wreck or break, even if they were an opponent. There is nothing like rubbing elbows at 150mph with a competitor and then going back to his pit to help swap a tire and change gearing. That being said, through the Wayalife videos, I saw the same community that I love in racing, but in Jeep form. Watching Eddie crawl under someone else's rig to change a drive shaft or Mel welding on an axle of a vehicle that wasn't their own showed me that this was the place for me. I look forward to group runs with you guys and progressing my jeep and skills over time with help from the forum.

Side Note - a racer named Marcel Irnie out of Canada has videos that are along the same lines as WAL but focused on streetbike racing. Great entertainment if you have some time to kill and want to learn about motorcycle racing.

Same here. I heard all the trash talk elsewhere, but noticed Eddie had written literally all of the tech stuff and FAQ stuff there. I googled Wayalife and found this forum. Hands down, the info here is better. If something is going to break, I want to know, not be reassured that something of questionable quality is fine if never used. This forum & Project JK are loaded with good information.

Why did you join Wayalife?

Hey all, I'm still new to the forum but wanted to bring up a topic just to generate some friendly conversation.

Why did YOU join Wayalife?

For me, I want to be a part of something bigger than just going out and hitting the local trails on my own. I wanted to help grow the 4wheeling community and, support a forum that has those same goals and interests.
And, while it may sound self serving, I want to be a part of that tight group of people that go out an explore in larger groups. To me it's about connection.

So, why did YOU guys join?

We already had this thread, so I merged it. But great idea. :thumb:

Google and the videos. Seemed every search I done on Google about the jk wayalife wad the first thing that popped up. Then I started seeing their videos on YouTube looking into moab and the rubicon trail. Well here I am after getting my 2dr rubi I signed up because after checking several other sites as well it honestly seemed like a much better group of people.

Yeah I just noticed that this has already been covered...my life as a rookie on the forums is never ending lol. Thanks for merging it. I think it's important that everyone here knows that this is a good place and especially that Eddie and Cindy know who supports them and why.

I joined the forum after watching almost all of Eddie's videos on YouTube. I was actually on the forum before I had a Jeep, but that was under a different screen name, which I forgot the password to and also the email I used. So I created the screen name I have now lol. But I still use other forums because I like seeing 1 off custom builds, whether its a Jeep or full blown buggy. And unforgettable, Wayalife doesn't have many buggies but they do have some bad ass JKs on here lol

How I found and why I joined.

When I bought my first jk in 2010, which was a 08 2Dr x I immediately started searching YouTube for videos. If you have seen one, you have seen them all. Untill, of course, I found project jk, the jk experience. Off road, exploring, bad ass jeeps, awesome destinations and instant friendships. Just awesome! I ended up selling that jk two years later after having done a few mods. Bought a bike. I didn't use to race sport bikes but rode for a few years. It is the same thing with bikes. Great people having fun. After close to three years and logging over 22,000 miles on my bran new 12 zx6r I grabbed my current jk. And of course I got back on YouTube. Wasn't till earlier this year when I found the forum. I have always loved what wayalife stands for. I watch and 'rewatch the videos and one day hope to meet up with members on the trail near me and out west. I have always been a outdoors guy but the jeep has taken me to places I wouldn't otherwise see and I have a newfound Love for the outdoors. It a beautiful world we live in and I want to see as much of it as I can. Sharing our love of jeeps and what they offer with like minded folk just makes it that much better. And I have been blessed to have a wife and son who love it as much as me.
