Holy crap! That’s beautiful! After a quick trip back up to Carson City to drop Ripley off with our son so that he can watch her while we attend SEMA, we turned and burned and headed right back down to Boulder City. Fortunately, the drive was a beautiful one as fall was in full swing and all the trees were golden in color.

On our way back, we decided to swing by Pizen to check on things and the colors were showing well out there as well.

Further along on our trip, we drove past Walker Lake and wow, the super calm waters yesterday made for an outstanding reflection.

Safe travels to you both!Wow you seriously own a piece of heaven out there. Looks amazing.
I’m drive to Vegas from California certainly isn’t that nice haha
It really is a good year for all colors up there. And I have to say, originally, I was kind of bummed that we had to go down, go up and then back down again and so quickly as that really sucks but I am glad that we got to see this.Holy crap! That’s beautiful!
LOL - the Mojave Desert is pretty when you get enough away from the cars, trash and stupidness along the interstateWow you seriously own a piece of heaven out there. Looks amazing.

Very beautiful! Did you ever figure out what they planted in that field so late in the season? After a quick trip back up to Carson City to drop Ripley off with our son so that he can watch her while we attend SEMA, we turned and burned and headed right back down to Boulder City. Guess I should start taking the old Mojave road....It really is a good year for all colors up there. And I have to say, originally, I was kind of bummed that we had to go down, go up and then back down again and so quickly as that really sucks but I am glad that we got to see this.

I have not. Being the end of the growing season, I can only imagine that it's some kind of cover crop that will get tilled under in spring.Very beautiful! Did you ever figure out what they planted in that field so late in the season?
There must be an alternate route, which is more scenic, but takes a lot longer. Unfortunately, all of the major highways out of San Diego are ugly. What Mike said, seriously is beautiful out there!

Yes. Up the 101 through Oregon, Washington and then over to Montana, and back down. There must be an alternate route, which is more scenic, but takes a lot longer.
Google maps did find two routes between San Diego to Boulder City, NV which avoid highways. Naturally, it takes longer. There is no escaping that the routes pass through some of the least forgiving desert in the country.Yes. Up the 101 through Oregon, Washington and then over to Montana, and back down.
Hey the leaves in the Mojave river are currently changing. You can see those as you pass through Victorville...hahaWhat Mike said, seriously is beautiful out there!
