You were actually the inspiration for this...I saw your post awhile back and said to myself that I haven’t made split pea soup in a long time...

Much better this morning than last night...as most soups are...

The last of my wife’s bday celebration...chanterelles, shiitakes & dried porcini’s (being reconstituted in stock)...into a risotto with white Alba truffles...

Mushroom dishes are being overlooked by many. Truly remarkable ingredient if you ask me.
Have you every tried fresh porcini, straight from the forest? Heavenly good.
Hope the dish turned out just right. [emoji106]

Not from the woods, but fresh in restaurants in Italy...they are delicious, amongst my favorites, which also include morels...

The risotto was excellent...you could probably shave white truffles on a shoe and it would taste good...
