The build of Ruthless

What are future plans? Hard wheeling at places like Rausch where you'll end up wanting hydro steering next and get into that trap, or easier high traction areas where you really don't have as much worry about breaking axles, bending flanges, etc? It's a bitch.

I will say this, with factory Rubicon axles, 37's and a 2" Dynatrac lift, Taylor killed it in the JL at Sand Hollow and kept up with everyone else on 40's, 4-Links and Evo-Levers. There were only 2 obstacles I highly suggested she avoid (really, I said fuck no) only because the consequences of the going off the obstacles would have been severe. In retrospect she probably couls have done them.

Totally different story in a JK - the JL's are so much a different animal.

I have a customer with a JT rubicon who is currently on the fence of doing a fully axle swap for his build so I may have some…but also know I’m completely on the wrong side of the country.

Plan is to get back into wheeling but have no intention of wanting to go larger than the 37’s I’m on and don’t want to build it as far as I did with knuckles. It’s part of why I’m on the fence. Part of me doesn’t trust the d30 but then I don’t know of or heard much of d30 issues in the JL like I did the jk.

Would be great if so. I wouldn’t mind taking the front off of him if he did do it and I did go the rubicon axle route.

Based on what you told me and how often you’ll be wheeling, Rubicon axles is what I would spend on. I understand where you going with Sahara option but I would not do it.

Rubicon rear axle is basically done getting regeared now!

Bought the Dana spicer gears. The company we get some gears from offers an “upgrade” kit to get rid of the ball bearing on the pinion and go back to a roller bearing.

The shop was slow yesterday so my boss got everything setup for me. I just need to throw the axle back together and finish painting it
