Savage Build Thread

well i couldn't keep it together guys. i called Drew today and made and order for EVO lower control arms. but i did manage to hold off on the rock sliders. i don't think its time for them now and i don't have the cash and i don't think Drew would appreciate me keep calling back and adding more work than anticipated.

I will be dropping the jeep off tomorrow night and hopefully will be able to pick it up Friday night. having trouble figuring out a way to pick it up before they close. I really have to figure this out because i am planning on going to the KMC Jeep Bash on Saturday!

Dude, adding more work means more money in their pockets, less in yours... I'm sure he wouldn't mind 🙃

Don't you have a spare key? They could park it outside, lock the other set in the Jeep and you could pick it up after hours

i do have a spare set and that is most likely what i will be doing but i haven't seen the shop yet, so i was hoping to get there while they were still open. oh well, looks like ill have to make another appointment :thumb:

Spotted RDE2ROK. but didn't get a chance to talk to him. I'm even more impressed after seeing it in person.

Is this normal for Dynatrac ball joints? I feel like there shouldn't be this large of a gap?

I haven't installed them myself, so take this for what's it's worth, but if the tapered joint stem is tight, you should be good. I just looked at some other pics on Google of them installed, and they all had that same gap.

nest phase

OK so i am thinking about the next phase of my build even though it wont be for several months. but its never to early to start thinking about and planning for it!
i want it to go along the lines of PR44 and new suspension. i will be staying with 37s.
The PR44 i have pretty dialed in and have spoken with Dynatrac about so i think i am good to go there until it comes time to order and ill iron out the wrinkles. but i am undecided with the suspension. my crrent set up was on the jeep when i bought it and i have hated it since the first year. it is much too tall and does ride as comfortable as i think a suspension could.

I am calling on Wayalife members for the suspension discussion. i would like your input on this.

at this point my end goal is long arm with bolt on coil overs.
1- Purchase all upfront EVOs Double D Pro suspension - however the upfront cost of this is going to most likely be too much for me to handle all at once.
2- get 3" EVO enforcer kit -- then upgrade Coilovers the Long arm as i save for those parts
3 - keep spring and shocks i currently have and purchase EVOs long arm kit --then purchase coil overs.

this is where i am at now. thanks for all though who look or may provide some feed back.

Now I have zero experience with coil overs so sorry in advance if I'm wrong but I thought I remember reading on here that guys were running bolt on coil overs with only needing front lowers and other than that factory control arms. So maybe run coil overs with front lowers while saving for the long arm?? Idk again just a thought from a guy without much experience. And as a new guy I gotta say awesome build!!

hey thanks you!
And I believe you are correct. In fact I even believe EVOLander is on that set up or was at some point. This is good thinking because I just put EVOs lower control arms on last week! hmm you may be onto something here and saving me a good amount of money! :clap2: at least for now.

I know that I have already talked to you about it but wanted to add it here just in case someone else was reading. But here is how my prosteer ball joints look.

Cool glad all the reading I did on coil overs was good for something lol cause lord knows I won't be able to afford coil overs for at least a few years haha look forward to seeing what you end up doing

So I got my first recall notice for my jeep. Clock Spring.

But in good news. My girlfriend got me some new Rubicon decals!!

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1468637112.668027.jpg

We saw these on a rig at the KMC Jeep Bash and really liked them. Awesome thing is, she surprised me with them I wasn't planning on ordering any.... Yea right lol

i feel like i have searched high and low on this form for the build thread for Vengeance that Eddie and Cindy did. however i can't seem to find it. Can someone please provide a link for me? i can't remember how the front suspension is set up and i want to check it out and look more into it for the set up of my front end in the future. Thanks!
