While heading back from a camping trip yesterday, we passed by the national park while episode 36 of the Kilauea eruption was happening. Note the plume on the right. When we got closer we could see the 1,000 foot lava fountain but the road was incredibly congested and people randomly slamming their brakes so I couldn’t get a shot.

If anyone cares to follow these almost predictable eruption cycles or wants to watch it back, USGS has a 24/7 live feed on YouTube. Just search “Kilauea V1” and it should pop up.
