PSA: BFG KO3 tires

Just wanted to throw this out there for all to see. In the last 2 months myself along with other guys at my job have mounted and balanced many sets of BFG KO3’s onto customer vehicles. EVERY set has been a nightmare to balance. Every tire looks like or has a shifted belt, they all take at least 8oz of weight, and many people have come back asking for rebalance or new tires. I would recommend that if you’re looking for a A/T tire for another daily driver or for the jeep that you steer clear of these tires for right now.
My buddy that lives in Oregon does mostly forest roads. His big deal is snow. Been running the KO2s for years. Held up well to his over landing setup. He’s about to pull the trigger on a set of 37 inch KO3s. What would recommend instead?

A lot of people here are very happy with Nitto Ridge Grapplers, but they will not have the snow performance of the KO series.

The BFG's must have changed over the years then. I used to have a set of 35 BFG's MT on an old 92 Tacome that I did a straight axle swap on and they balanced easy and road really well. Perhaps their quality control has fallen apart bigtime. I know they are crazy popular so this is good info to know.

Last set of BFG KO2's in the snow didn't perform as well compared to all the previous sets so I switched to a set of Nitto Recon.

I'll be spending more time in a snow state this winter and these tires are not Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake rated, they actually have a poor snow rating, so I'll be looking forward to seeing how they really do, they don't do well in the heavy Texas rain either.

They did well in Moab but disappointed how they handle in the wet conditions.
