Project Tj

This is the first jeep I bought. 2 weeks after purchase it came into the shop for lift. At that point I discovered the frame was junk. The whole passenger side of the frame had been eaten away by rust. Some asshole filled It with expanding foam and painted it nice. It looked as tho someone cleaned the jeep up a couple years before I got it.
At this point I will admit, reluctantly, that I didnt know enough to check very closely.
I did call the guy I bought it from but you know how that goes.
So I went and bought another Tj and this one got sidelined, but not for long.
Spent 1500 on a newish frame that was truly spotless and then the fun began.......
This build was accomplished thru the help of RST8ROX and my brother. With out those 2 this jeep would still be rotting. I had zero mechanical interest prior to this. It's been done since last July
I originally intended to sell it so I never posted it and showed it off. It's a 2002 tj sport. Shitty built body armor
Which is crap to work with. RST8ROX did warn us. Lol
2.5 inch lift rough country variety.
All new lines. Custom rock guards. Custom rear bumper. Customized factory front bumper
Other wise stock.

Looks great! Did you paint it or is that a different Jeep that you had on Drummond?

Great project! Can't believe the body looked so good and the frame so shitty  Nice DD for sure.

When people ask me why I moved from NY to California I’m just going to show them a picture of that frame. Lol

Hard to chose which pictures to post. I made a couple videos also. Not sure about posting.
RST8ROX was a plethora of knowledge along the way and a great teacher.
Thanks ! You all know how it feels to step back and feel good about what you did.

Great work! That green and tan combo is classic! Wish they’d bring those colors back.

Thanks. I really dig the green too
We had a hell of a time painting fenders and grill. Did it a couple times. First time we sprayed the clear coat it all turned like gun blue. It looked cool, but damn sure wasnt the green we were looking for.
The tan top completed the look in my opinion.
