Since I've owned the FC the steering box has been leaking (which means it still had fluid).
So I decide to pull it apart to clean it up and add new seals and inspect it.
Here's a short video of how the manual steering works in these old jeeps. My FC has a Ross. All the parts to rebuild it can be purchased from omix or crown.
The bottom spline shaft is where the pitman arm attaches.

Bolt in the center adjust the tension on the steering, you can make it loose or tight. It basically tightens up the sector shaft fork into the gear.
