Name That Tool

I have worked on wax coated linen with ink, as well as the “paper” sheets. We used ground up rubber eraser to keep the graphite dust from clouding the drawings.
The electric erasers were a godsend.

It might be a lost art!! My daughter graduated two years ago and I don’t think she learned cursive. It was public school. I graduated 28 years ago and I still write with a mixture of cursive and printing, but I think my cursive is cleaner than my printing for sure!!!

Maybe just to sign your name. I haven’t been in school for 36 years but with computers and iPads do they even use paper for homework or is all online?

Everything is online and networked now. It’s crazy....my friends daughter is 18 and just got her drivers license. She is afraid to drive and didn’t want to because she didn’t know her way home or around town. Parents always drive, kids always glued to phones iPads or movies in cars now.

They don’t even teach US history anymore but they were teaching my son about the Muslim religion in middle school. WTF is that fuckin California

That's crazy, I didn't even think of that. I recently dropped on of my sons friends off. I'd been to his house one other time yet remembered how to get there. He asks me "Did you just remember how to get there?" Yeah it's called paying attention..haha.

I know. My daughters senior Americans history book had a chapter about Oprah being an American hero. Lol barely touched on the bill of rights or constitution. ??? Don’t understand that one.

Public schools seem to be trying to "sanitize" our history since nearly every achievement has managed to offend someone.

If there is ever any real adversity, these people will have no idea what it takes to survive.

Another thing, as said before, paying attention helps, and most don't, always expecting someone else to take care of them.

It’s called World History [emoji6]. Rest assured that your son will have a opportunity to take US History, Honors US History or even AP US History during high school.

It’s funny, my girl is a sophomore and has had a school issued ipad or Chrome Book since fifth grade. They used them quite a bit in 6th & 7th grade as they replaced many text books. Since moving up to the high school she hardly ever uses her chrome book. She has normal school issued text books for honors classes or parent purchased text books for AP classes. Test are mostly paper scan-tron sheets, but most assignments are Google Docs, electronically submitted.

I still haven’t gotten over having to buy books for AP Physics & AP US History along with study guides for those classes plus AP Literature & AP Computer Science. I’ve yet to pay for the tests (about $50 each) to get the AP credits.

Just a little glimpse of the future for you guys with young kids.
