Hey all, I figured I would come here to get help identifying a bracket I've never seen on any of my previous Jeeps. Passenger side attached to the frame. It appears to serve no purpose that I can see. ??
It’s supposedly to prevent rollovers. There’s a number of threads on the subject. This is the latest.Hey all, I figured I would come here to get help identifying a bracket I've never seen on any of my previous Jeeps. Passenger side attached to the frame. It’s very hard to remove just fyi. The bolts are hardened so tough to cut thru. If you’re not hitting it with your tires or need to install brackets that would go there then I would leave it.Thanks. That answers that. So I can definitely remove it. I was genuinely curious. It looks ridiculous and out of place.
Too late... rectifiedIt’s very hard to remove just fyi. The bolts are hardened so tough to cut thru. If you’re not hitting it with your tires or need to install brackets that would go there then I would leave it.
Its purpose is to help prevent a rollover. Safety standard.
There is a mounting bracket that is welded to the frame. The main bulk of the bracket is bolted to that. I made short work of all of with my cut off wheel and grinder.I thought that these were welded to the frame whereas this one is bolted and looks easy to take off.
I believe It’s supposed to keep the wheel from folding under thereby allowing the jeep to roll over that cornerCurious does anyone understand the physics how that is supposed to prevent a rollover?
But why only on passenger side then?I believe It’s supposed to keep the wheel from folding under thereby allowing the jeep to roll over that corner
It’s on both now I thinkBut why only on passenger side then?
Because the greenies said so. What kind of question is this? You know logic is gone.Curious does anyone understand the physics how that is supposed to prevent a rollover?
Oh so it works in conjunction with the auto stop start then. Got it!Because the greenies said so. What kind of question is this? You know logic is gone.

What Jerry said, it’s supposed to help keep the tire from going under the vehicle and frame which can cause a rollover.I believe It’s supposed to keep the wheel from folding under thereby allowing the jeep to roll over that corner
