My 2012 Gecko JK… rebuilt again!

I wanted to create a thread for my 2012 Gecko green JK… it is almost done receiving a laundry list of new goodies.

For a backstory, my father and I purchased this Jeep brand new back in 2012, and it has been through many different engine swaps and stages of building… and I have decided to have it undergo a major series of upgrades once again. I will never sell this Jeep as I lost my father back in 2019 and this Jeep has more sentimental value than any amount of money could overcome.

It last had an LS3 swap behind the factory AW580 transmission, with a Teraflex 6” longarm kit & 40” Goodyear MT/R’s.

It now has a cammed L8T (6.6L) with an 8HP70 transmission, Rock Krawler Rockzilla suspension Genright bumpers and armor, and 42” Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T’s. There is also a bunch of other stuff being done… new seat upholstery, rock hard cage, etc… I will try my best to keep posting updates to this thread.

What a wonderful story. I decided to keep my Jeep because my mom (passed away 2024) would always ask how it's running whenever she called me. I have a 2014 and will not sell it. I'm open to getting a second vehicle but Blanca will always be in the transportation pool.

Same here. I purchased mine in 2012 and when I showed her she was so excited it was a manual and kept stomping the clutch. She passed that September before I could let her drive it.
