For me, it's the perfect balance. I wanted it to be rock solid on the trail but easy to remove if I wanted to. This accomplishes just that. Definitely not theft proof, but I park in my garage, work from home, and live in the suburbs of Denver. Odds are very low.
As sipafz mentions, you could pop it off easily and put it under the seat so it's less visible.
I'll make a video tomorrow of me taking the mount completely off so everyone can see what's involved.
Not a dumb question at all. Yes, I control it all from steering wheel. Personally, I don't care what station I'm on; just care what song is currently playing. So I flip thru presets just as I did before.Great work and great write up!
Might be a dumb question but, how do you listen to the radio? I know you can control from the steering wheel but doesn't that get kinda hard guessing what station you're on with just the presets? How about Satellite radio or CD?

Once Pandora does offline listening on the iPad, I also never see myself using radio again.
Made you a new video. Updated URL in first post.I meant pop it off as in take it off if you don't have your iPad with you not steal it. I don't always bring my iPad with me when I'm cruising around town so wasn't sure how quick it was to pull off.
