Look What Flew into Town!!

Great pics! The P51 Mustang is by far my favorite warbird. The sound of that Allison V12 is incredible and unmistakable when flying overhead!

Awesome pics. My grandpa was an Army recon photographer during WWII. He flew missions on the B17 in Europe. Here are a few shots from his collection.

Thanks for sharing those Eddie I love to see beautifully restored aircraft especially ones that still fly. We had an adopted family member who was ball turret gunner in a B24 I can still hear him talking bout some of the missions and it was hard to imagine how we made it through those times but we did

They were recently over here on the east in VA. Beautiful photos though, I can never get enough of planes esp. Old school ones from that era. Wish I would have gone to see them when I had the chance. Thanks for sharing!

Great pics, Eddie and ttfhell!

It should be a great reminder of the sacrifice so many made for is to be free.

Thanks for sharing. We had the Texas Raiders B-17 land in our local airport last May in central VA. Made the front page of the local paper. Definitely an awesome sound flying over. Wish I had made it over to see up close, your pictures are amazing!

Glad you all like the photos and glad to know so many of you are fans of old WWII planes like I am. :thumb:

MTG, yes, these planes are here in the Carson Valley until the end of the day and then they head up to the Reno Stead Airport and should be their till Friday. If you can, I would definitely take the kids and make the trip to see them :yup:

Thank you for sharing, I love old WWII planes. One of the guys I worked with here, since retired, was able to get the chance to fly an AT6 trainer plane, for a small fee. A trained pilot took you up, and then let the other person fly the plane, and needless to say Deano was on cloud 9 about it.

Those were some great pics. We had the "Memphis Belle" come to Philly last summer.
