Look What Flew into Town!!

I saw them flying over the day before and just stood there in awe, it was great to see them.
It was a fun day! Very cool to get up close to these guys.
You had to be small to move around in them though after going inside them.

It was cool that you could join us on a whim like that. Still can't believe how uncrowded it was and almost empty by the time we left. Gotta love living in a small town :yup:

Thanks for the pictures. I love classic piston engined aircraft, especially WWII vintage.
I crew on a couple of DHC-4 Caribou Vietnam era transport aircraft that our Airforce donated to the local historical aircraft group that I'm a member of. Nothing sounds quite so good as a big piston engine, especially a radial. :)

That is so cool! There's an outdoor air museum down the street from our house. Your post is inspiring me to head down there and snap some photos and share them here.

I've been wanting to check that place out!!

If your into that stuff lets go to China Lake next time I'm in town. Pretty cool museums on base.

Also the air strip in Kernville sees a lot of neat fighter jets and such from the guys from the Leemore AFB. Pretty good burgers at the little diner on the airport....

My grandad was a flight engineer on the b17 in WWII and got a bronze star for hanging out of the catwalk and dislodging a bomb so that they could land. Haha imagine hanging out of there that'd be way worse that just walking out on it
