I myself read the same thing. I need to get gas later to fill up for the work week, so I have no idea the increase from last weekend.
I came across this article and thought I’d post it up. I think the news is spinning things if this article is true.

Also they say the extra taxes are to repair and improve roads and highways. Then why are your highways in such horrible condition? Seriously can’t believe the shape the roads were in last time I was there in SoCal.
