Creature Comforts

I definitely agree AC is a must. I drive with the doors/windows off the majority of the time, but the AC has come in handy plenty. Bluetooth not needed. I do not have power windows or door locks, not needed (on my 2 door). If it were a 4 door, I think power windows and door locks are necessary. In my opinion 4 doors without power windows/door locks would be a huge PITA!

If I could do it over I would have looked a little hard for my jeep but with the sport s package. Would have been nice to have the 32s out the gate, Bluetooth would have been great cuz my wife always calls when I'm out wheeling or driving. I also am starting to get really annoyed with the four door and manual windows and doors. Guess I should just take em off.

I have every option and will say that a jeep with a soft top, plus mt's, plus any kind of exhaust that is loud = Bluetooth useless! Navigation with phones any more is a bonus but I think Google maps/navigation is better than any OEM software. Will never own a 4door without power windows or locks.

This is a very good point. However here in Oregon, not only is talking on your phone while driving unsafe, it's also illegal. I don't usually get many calls as it is but thought if I did at least I could be a little more safe and legal. If I can't hear, we'll than I suppose I just won't take the call like I do now and save some cash. Thanks for sharing your experience.

4 door without power locks would suck. Bluetooth is nice but far from necessary. I would never own a vehicle without AC.

The items you mention are fairly inexpensive compared to the price of the vehicle as a whole. The incremental price on your monthly payment would be relatively small...assuming you are financing it.

I agree to this, might not need ac in oregon but if you go anywhere else youll wish you had it!:thumb:

Yes by themselves they are all cheap options. But to get power windows, I'd have to get the Sport S, which comes with more than just power windows. Overall all the options I would want only raise the price about 3k, or about $50 a month more. In the grand scheme of things it's not a lot, but month to month I just don't know.

I picked up my '13 sport s for 24,900 which with my good credit and good interest rate is about $370./month... well worth the options i rarely use but here in florida a vehicle without ac will get used for 2 months tops jan and feb:twocents:

shop around a little you may find a rubicon 2013 (new) but held over for the same or close to the price of a sport S... wish i had done this:twocents::thumb:

There is only one right answer.

What ever you will be happy with. Roll the dice, rock, paper, scissor, write pro/con on paper and fill it out.. What ever you want to pay for and can live with. Maybe there are some options you can add down the road that will be less expensive in a year or two.

One example from me was the radio. I would of loved a MyGIG nav stereo but it was to expensive so I had the cheapest one I could get. Once I got the Jeep I ripped it out and placed a topof the line Kenwood nav BT telephone Video Rear camera in it.

Good Luck

I don't know if someone caught this and corrected him or not BUT, at least to my knowledge, you can't get a JK with manual windows but power locks. It's either no power locks/windows or power locks/windows. Maybe a dealership could order you some special one or something but I doubt it unless your dealership has some special in with a plant manager or some shit lol.

My '13 JK (2dr) doesn't have power windows/locks and to be honest, I sometimes miss it but it's never too far of a reach to get to the passenger side window to roll it down and I kinda like having that little cubby in the dash to put my iPhone while I'm driving lmao

Eventually though I'll have a JKU (I'm hoping for 'plum crazy' still!) and it'll have a hard top and power everything. I will never own another vehicle that doesn't have cruise control but IMO if you have a hard top you should have the amenities and if you have a soft top you should have the basics. I know thats stupid but thats how my brain works haha I definitely don't dog on people who have both or visa versa thats just how I think hahaha

My dream interior would be; cruise control, power windows, power locks, heated/cooled seats, saddle leather seats, basic radio (don't give a shit about bluetooth), and a hard top with a Spiderwedshade for when the tops off. I'm definitely a creature comforts kind of guy.

I have a bone stock JKU Sport. No power windows or door locks. I do have AC but the stereo is an AM/FM CD player. It's not to hard to unlock the passenger door or the one behind it from the driver seat, but I can't get to the seat behind me without getting out. It just becomes one of the many "Jeep things" we deal with. I got the 2013 because it had it where it counts, more powerful engine and alot of other bells and whistles I like. :)

I have a 2013 JKU soft top with power windows and locks with Bluetooth Cruze control /steering wheel controls and alpine sound system and a 6 speed manual transmission
